I'm in it to win it . It would be nice to be able to bring an ereader to work. There is a lot of restrictions on items that are allowed in the workplace . Some of the ereaders that are listed would be allowed. So I'm really hoping to win

Why I should win an ereader.
Well, I'm new & just recently joined when I discovered MobileRead. I joined to learn what I could about the various ereaders (of which the only one that I've been able to see in is the Sony 505). I can't afford a dedicated reader at this time. I read on a Palm & my laptop. I have gone for the last 2 months without the Palm until I rebuilt it last week. During the Palm incident I have had very little chance to read at all & I'm afraid that I'm going into withdrawal. My wife isn't a reader & probably thinks that most of my laptop reading time is really internet porn. I work for the University of Arkansas (yes, we're still slow to adopt new things) & I would be breaking local ground & exposing ebooks to people that haven't shifted their focus yet. If the eink is really as good as everyone says then when I finish work at work & work at home & am tired out of my gourd I can read more than 20 minutes without a headache. Because I am me. (I didn't see that in the few entries that I looked at. OKAY, it's really weak, but it always worked for my sisters.) My choice would be a Kindle 2 followed by a Sony reader as second choice. Because I have been getting almost everything in Mobi which I really liked over Palm eReader & MicroSoft reader & PDF's are a last desperate choice in my opinion (for general reading anyway). My e-library is roughly 80% that is supposedly multi-format & 80% of that I know that I could reload (legally) in the Sony format. |

I want to enter this giveaway. I should win because the fate of the known universe rests upon my being able to read on a screen larger than the 3.5 inch screen on my pocket pc, my current ebook device.

Add me to the list of entries for the giveaway! I had been budgeting for a new reader and was going to buy at the beginning of July -- soooo close! But today, I decided to try to replace a hose in my washing machine and learned a lesson: If the hose kinks, do not try to keep it from kinking by putting a sturdy metal spring inside -- the ensuing suction and sounds of metal shredding in the washing machine's innards are quite grating to the ear So I now have a new washing machine, but no more money set aside for an ereader, so I hope to win one!

Consider me entered!!
Although I just registered today, I have been lurking on MobileRead for about a month now, trying to figure out which eReader to purchase. I am a super busy Mom who desparately wants to find a way to fit more reading into her schedule of shuttling kids back and forth and I know I would put it to great use if I were the winner of this contest! |

I would love to win a Kindle 2. I am a teacher of middle school students with special needs... reading is NOT their favorite subject. The ability of the Kindle to read-aloud, onboard dictionary, and adjustable font sizes would perhaps make their reading experience less frustrating... and perhaps the technology will also entice them to read a bit more.
Alas, as a teacher, my personal nor classroom budget allows such a purchase. If I could have one to establish the benefits, perhaps I could obtain a grant to purchase additional units. Thanks for any consideration! Now off to enjoy my Sony! |

I would love to win an ereader. Please enter me!
Why should I win? I was reading up on the reviews of the Kindle 2 vs the Sony 700. The review of the Sony 700 at Amazon recommended people come to this site. She had flattering things to say about how knowledgable the people here are. Here I am! So why was I looking at review. I plan to buy one this weekend. I just got a promotion and it's my anniversary so I told my hubby no gift - I'm getting an ereader. I am clearly meant to win this. All the signs are pointing at that!!! Thank you so much for the chance! |

OK - I give up - just have to give it a go.
I would love to win! Who wouldn't?
The only thing I have won in my life was an electric drill when I was 12. I figure this would be a better prize if I win... |

I would like to win a reader for my 88-year-old Great Aunt. Health issues and all have brought her to a point in life where reading is really one of her last remaining pleasures. It would be great to set her up with all of the texts that PG has to offer.
