I think just Mac.
I've been using various Linux distros since 1996 (more than 10) and never seen or read of it in connection with Linux.

Edit:
I see the HomeBrew website claims it's for Linux. Linux doesn't need it. I've even installed rpms (Redhat) on Debian. Any Debian based Linux uses .deb (via apt), snap and flatpak and can use rpm. I added synaptic to my Ubuntu Mate ARM64 Raspberry Pi4b. Also the direct download script here https://calibre-ebook.com/download_linux works for most distros of Linux and automatically installs x86-64 or ARM64. Worked for Pi even without Synaptic installed.

I've never needed to swap SSL on Linux for Calibre. Using Mint since at least 2016 (Debian/Ubuntu based).

Just install Calibre from here
https://calibre-ebook.com/download_linux

Paste this into Terminal/Console (from above official link)
Code:
sudo -v && wget -nv -O- https://download.calibre-ebook.com/linux-installer.sh | sudo sh /dev/stdin
The versions of Calibre from Linux repositories are mostly outdated.

Currently I'm on Mint 21.3 with Mate desktop.

Yes, I have never heard of anybody using it on Linux, and no idea how it compares with other package managers for Linux.

Of course on macOS there is also MacPorts and Fink, but Homebrew is much more popular.

In which case, I would re-iterate my recommendation to use the install from the calibre Linux download page and paying special attention to the prerequisites.

Not Working- .16 in 7.7.0

Hello again!
macOS 14.4.1 with Calibre 7.7.0, running .16 plugin... not showing the ACSM files, says "unknown" and no longer working with Libby plugin or manual import. Have unlinked openSSL, but not sure what else I need to do (although I am pretty sure I have seen this before)...
... Any assistance you can provide would be appreciated.

@miss_p1nky... didn't realize you had answered; I had uninstalled the plug-in, then reinstalled it now and it works... not sure what it "fixed," but all is well...

Is anybody else able to replicate this glitch? I had it happen again. Three books from two different libraries.

I've tried to replicate a couple of times when you first mentioned it and my attempts failed.

This is a known issue with version 0.0.16 of the plugin. It's already fixed on the master branch for future releases of the plugin, but due to issues with the name change of the plugin from "DeACSM" to "ACSM Input" this hasn't been released as an update yet.

If you want, you can download 0.1.0 from Github, with that the issue should no longer occur.

Hi

I use windows 10, latest version of calibre, DeACSM_0.0.16

this is a new error ive not had problems with this plugin in the past.

Now when importing acsm files from my library to calibre the file doesn't convert to epub it sits there as unknown.

Any fix for this please ?

I'm having the same problem. Everything was working a few days ago but today when I try to download a book from my library only the acsm is imported, the epub is not downloaded. I previously had this problem when I first installed the plugin and it was resolved by installing a certificate (https://www.mobileread.com/forums/sh...ostcount=324); since in between my computer failed and I had to get a new system disc and reinstall everything, I thought maybe that was the problem again, but I followed the same steps as last time and it did not work.

I put the plugin in verbose mode and restarted Calibre in debug mode, I noticed in the error message there was a url for an epub (which was not downloaded) and I was able to download that manually by entering the url in the browser but when I import it the drm is not removed.

Here is the log file:

Thanks for pointing to that info about the certificates. I ran into the same problem today and was able to resolve it by installing the now-correct certificates.
It seems Adobe is now using Google Trust Services, and for me the proper cert was: https://i.pki.goog/1p5.crt (install the same way as from the linked post)

If this is not the correct cert for you, you can follow these steps (for Firefox on desktop, may vary for other browsers or mobile):
1. Go to https://acs.cdn.overdrive.com (from the "Loading book from ..." log message in Calibre)
2. Click the "lock" icon at the left end of the URL bar, click "Connection secure" then "More information"
3. This page has 3 tabs, for me the middle one was the one I cared about -- "GTS CA 1P5"
4. Go to https://pki.goog/repository/ (linked from the bottom of the middle tab), and scroll down to the "Subordinate CAs" section.
5. Find the cert you need and click "Action" to download the certificate format you need, then install it
