Help Me Identify A Title, Please

Can someone help me identify this book?

My dad told me about it years ago and I have yet to find it, he can't remember the name of it. He thinks he read it sometime in the 1970s and said it was really good, so I'd like to find it.

Apparently, some people take a child and raise him exactly like Hitler to see if he'll turn out the same way. He experiences the same events, his new parents are actors or something, and so forth.

Does this sound familiar to anyone out there? It sounds to me almost Truman Show-esque. I'd really like to find it though.

The Boys from Brazil by Ira Levin seems to be a close match to what your looking for.

Read the synopsis and it sure sounds close. I think that's the one, thank you!
