Definitely some sort of a sign. Nothing is a coincidence in this reality.

Yup, it's a sign!

The very first two books I put on my K2 were from the library. I checked out the mobi versions the day before the K arrived, ran the scripts on them (this was when we actually had the S/N on the Amazon Manage Your Kindle page - now you'd have to wait for it to actually arrive to run the PID script), transferred them to the K and started reading.

I'm somewhat technically proficient, but since it's been years since I've done much with DOS prompts, did take me just a bit to ensure I was in the right directory for the prompts - but not too bad at all. Think of me as a blonde geek light - if that sounds like you, or you're good at following directions and the > prompt doesn't give you palpitations, the K works well for library books in mobi format.

I don't do dedrm... at least not yet.

That is probably exactly what I'll do.

Someone cracked it not too long ago. There is another member who has been removing DRM from pdf files and reading on a Kindle

I know that the Cybook Gen3 has an easy 'fix' to solve the date issue so that Mobipocket eBooks from the library can be read without fiddling. Is there now a similar 'fix' for the BeBook?
