"PDF wird dauerhaft am Markt präsent bleiben"

Das boersenblatt (onlinemagazin f .d. dt. buchandel) veröffentlicht heute unter diesem Titel ein paar kurze Aussagen vom Margarete Rathe, Mitglied der Geschäftsführung von Ciando.

Ich fand das gerade in einer kurzen Arbeitpause, hab momentan keine Zeit für inhaltliche Auseinandersetzung damit und stelle das daher mal so ohne weitere Anmerkung zur Kenntnisnahme rein. Oder für Leute die da kommentieren wollen.

Nur zu den Kommentaren: Die Genervtheit von Herrn Groß amüsiert mich zutiefst. Daher immer richtig in diesen Zusammenhängen: Der Kommentarhinweis auf Baen.

Nette Genervtheit ; - ) aber Nachvollziehbar. Ich denke mal, hier wird zuviel Augenmerk auf Ebookreader gelegt. Meine meiste Fachliteratur oder Dienstanweisungen kommen kommen von meinem Arbeitgeber per PDF um am Computer gelesen zu werden, und EPUB sind wohl für Arbeitgeber häufigsts uninteressant.

Von meiner Seite eine wohl allgemein unerwartete Bemerkung: Ich denke auch, daß PDF durchaus weiterhin seine Bedeutung hat und haben wird.

Bei entsprechenden editierbaren Vorlagen, die es mir leicht machen, PDFs im 90X120 mm Format selbst zu erstellen, ist auch das Lesen auf Lesegeräten kein Problem.

Man sollte halt immer im Hinterkopf behalten, um was es geht und was man darstellen will und dann das Format entsprechend wählen.

pdf werden auf alle Fälle bleiben.

EbookHype hat recht, dass gerade für die "berufsmäßig" zu lesenden Sachen spielt es eine weiter Rolle.

Und hier wird es eine Anpassung der Reader-Hardware an an das althergebrachte (weil eben auch zur Übersicht ganz praktische) A4-Format bzw. US-letter usw. geben. Die großen Fachbuchverlage werden uns irgendwann mit Freuden ihre (DRM-geschützten) Fachbücher, technischen Handbücher, juristischen Großkommentare usw. für unsere Reader verkaufen.

Stimme mtravellerh da zu, der Inhalt bestimmt auch die Form.
