Habe einen Nachteil von Readern entdeckt

Einen Nachteil hat ja so ein eBook Reader, man kann ihn nicht mit in die Sauna oder Badewanne nehmen

Da muss ich immer noch ein richtiges Buch mitschleppen. Habe Angst, dass die hohe Luftfeuchtigkeit oder Temperatur meinen Reader schrotten würde.

Schade. Da muss man mal einen wasserdichten, outdoor Reader erfinden

Versuch's mal mit einem Aquapac. Mein Reader ist schon so mit mir baden gegangen. Sauna würde ich denn doch eher lassen.

Ich lese regelmäßig in der Badewanne und nehme derzeit sogar nur luft- und wasserdichte Gefrierbeutel.
Der Sony hat das bisher ohne Probleme mitgemacht, sogar ein "Teilbad" (so ein bisschen ins Wasser gefallen) hat er dank Gefrierbeutel schadlos überstanden.

Werde mir aber trotzdem ein Aquapac zulegen. Die Dinger sind einfach praktikabler...

Hey, das eröffnet ja völlig neue Welten .

Welches Aquapac nimmt man denn da genau. Geht da auch keine Luftfeuchtigkeit durch? Ich habe immer sehr hohe Luftfeuchtigkeit im Badezimmer, da die Wassertemperatur nichts für Weicheier ist . Hält das ein Aquapac auch raus? Müsste es ja eigentlich.

Kann man den trotzdem noch gut damit lesen? Ich kann mir das gerade gar nicht so richtig vorstellen.

Ich habe gar keine Badewanne... Und beim Duschen wäre mir Lesen dann doch zu viel Multitasking. Und an Lesen in der Sauna habe ich noch nie gedacht - aber offensichtlich sind hier echte Hardcore-Leser anwesend.

Naja, wenn nicht auf diesem Forum - wo sonst?!?

Da ich Grund zu der Annahme habe, dass eingedrungene Sandkörnchen an dem zerbrochenen Screen nach dem Strandurlaub letztes Jahr nicht ganz unschuldig waren, möchte ich meinen Reader am Strand dieses Jahr etwas besser schützen.

Justread verkauft für's Cybook das small Whanganui, das deutlich preiswerter ist. Kann mir jemand sagen, ob und welche für Ebook-Reader relevanten Unterschiede es zwischen diesem und dem Large PDA gibt? Lässt sich das Cybook (oder in meinem Fall der V3) durch die Folie hindurch einigermaßen bedienen?

Ich kann nur von meinen Erfahrungen mit dem "Large PDA"-Case berichten.
Die Breite paßt wie angegossen, der obere Teil läßt sich beqeum nach hinten umklappen.
Ich habe in meinem letzten Strandurlaub 11 Bücher gelesen und den Reader dazu nicht ein einziges mal aus der Hülle nehmen müssen - die Bedienung funktioniert einwandfrei auch durch die Hülle, allerdings habe ich ausschließlich die Haupttasten verwendet, die Bedienung der Seitentasten könnte einiges an Übung erfordern

Wer sich traut kann den Reader mitsamt der oben offenen Hülle ins Wasser tauchen und den luftdichten Verschluß erst dann zumachen - bringt einiges an Nervenkitzel, dafür wird alle Luft aus der Hülle gepresst und das Cybook wirkt wie "vakuumverpackt".

Leider ist der Link auf den eigentlichen Test tot bzw. von Mr. Steib eingeschränkt.

Da waren, wenn ich mich recht entsinne auch echt amüsante nette Badebilder dabei, aber alles "jugendfrei".

Sehr treffend auch die (wie der Ebook-Reader) komplett in Frischhaltefolie eingewickelten Paperbacks zum Vergleich.

Bei denen hats dann nicht so geklappt mit dem Umblättern ...
