Ahhhh. That's usually an accident which is cleared away before you get there. Or not.

At least you aren't on foot, like your namesake while chasing Smaug ......

There were periods where it would have been quicker on foot - even big hairy feet.

As it was a particularly bad trip, I'm now washing down the Sancerre with a Pinot Grigio.

Bless your beautiful hide
Wherever you may be. We ain't met yet
But I'm a willin' to bet You're the gal for me.

Bless your beautiful hide
You're just as good as lost. I don't know your name
But I'm a-stakin' my claim Lest your eyes is crossed.

Oh, I'd swap my gun 'n' I'd swap my mule
Tho' whoever took it would be one big fool.
Or pay your way thru cookin' school.
If 'n you would say I do.
Bless your beautiful hide
Prepare to bend your knee.
And take that vow Cause I'm tellin' you now,
You're the gal for me.

Good morning, everyone! Had to watch it again last night. (Probably the 15th time...) Certainly sets me up for another delightful day afterwards! There's some of my newest Ceylon tea in my cup, Food Lady Surprise in my bowl, and today is going to be another great day!

Having this cleared up is actually bringing attention to an old army injury when I fell off of a telephone pole and broke the end of my tailbone off so it is free floating and causing nerve damage. That will be the next project and may actually bring in some disability income.

The pup and I are getting cabin fever. I can't drive until at least the end of the month and I'm a little too far out to get casual visitors. Getting rides to the doc and pt have been a biatch
This is sounding good. I'm so very glad. Not about the tailbone, but one thing at a time. (And yes, not driving my stick shift was not the fun part of rehab. )

Hang in there, KK! You've got it licked!

Second tea, but my first real mug for the day -- I made a quick mug to take with me on the road. Had the usual Friday writers' group meeting. We had a good meeting, and I made my usual shopping stops on the way home.

Now, to unwind, which really is an essential part of the overall tea experience!

Well, that was a fun morning. NOT.

The doctor switched my asthma medication a couple of weeks ago, going from a combined broncodialator + corticosteroid to a new, once a day corticosteroid and good old Ventalin as the broncodialator. But starting yesterday, I began to have problems with my throat closing up, difficulty swallowing, etc. And it seemed to be related to the Ventalin. (The new corticosteroid is definitely working better. That one we keep.) But this morning the throat closing problem was still there, and worse. Called the local clinic - my doc wasn't in today, and wasn't in his other office, in the next town down the Coast. Turns out it was his day to work the ER at the Coast hospital, St. Mary's. So I went down there and queued up to see him there. (I actually didn't want to, I avoid going to ERs for "routine" things, but his office person said that this was more than justified.) So I saw him, and he agrees it's probably the Ventalin, most likely a reaction to the propellant. (Pharmacist also agreed later that he's seen it before.) So I have yet another broncodialator to try, this one a "twist puff" dispenser (no propellant), and we keep the new corticosteroid. But it hasn't been a fun 24 hours.

Now, some First Flush Darjeeling. I think I still have a little of last year's Puttabong Estate, which would be perfect this afternoon.

I see trees of green, red roses too
I see them bloom for me and you
And I think to myself what a wonderful world.

I see skies of blue and clouds of white
The bright blessed day, the dark sacred night
And I think to myself what a wonderful world.

Good morning, everyone... What a wonderful world...
When we stop and think about it, there are so many people who are happy with a lot less than we have. Ever wonder why? I think it's the little things. Things like tea. Things like sunshine or watching a sparrow. Or playing with a piece of string... not needing a $300 gadget to feel 'complete.' Hmmmmm.... Well, I have tea this morning, good English Breakfast tea from Viang Joom On. And that certainly makes me happy. The sunshine and blue skies add to it. What a wonderful world.

Thanks, cromag. Much better now, and we'll watch carefully to make sure I don't have another problem with it. Enough better to have some Talisker Storm.

When I was seventeen, it was a very good year
It was a very good year for small town girls
And soft summer nights
We'd hide from the lights
On the village green
When I was seventeen
------------------------------->
But now the days are short, I'm in the autumn of my years
And I think of my life as vintage wine
From fine old kegs
From the brim to the dregs
It poured sweet and clear
It was a very good year

I've just 'returned' from my 50th High School Reunion... Class of '64... Memories....It was a very good year.

Good morning, everyone. Back in the States, my classmates are winding down the reunion that's been going on all day. One of the members owns a children's daycamp, and volunteered to host an afternoon of play and an evening BBQ. About 60 people showed up, most who only knew each other from the internet Alumnae Facebook page, although we all knew each other's names. Our graduating class had 1,352 seniors (plus another 150+/- that didn't graduate...) so we really only knew those we sat next to in class... Several people brought laptops or iPads, and those of us too far away to make the trip 'joined' the party via Skype, with conference calls linking us all together. But it seems as if everyone got old... A nice trip down memory lane!

New Ceylon tea this Sunday morning, as we get ready to challenge the day. First challenge will be breakfast. No Food Lady on Sundays, but I think we are up to the task. Then perhaps a ride though the mountains before the Rainy Season makes the roads impassible. All in all, a good start on what looks to become a very nice day!

Charlie, good to hear the good news. Ventolin used to make me really wired, as, I suppose, would most bronchiodialtors. I always hated the feeling. I'm glad I was able to get free of them.

OK... on to breakfast!
