A complete (I believe) collection of the Fairy Tales of Hans Christian Andersen. Includes many of the ones we're all familiar with, such as "The Emperor's New Clothes", "The Little Match Girl", "The Ice Queen", "The Princess and the Pea", etc, and lots that I certainly hadn't come across before.

Not an altogether cheerful collection - many of the stories end with children dying - but of course it's a reflection of an age when child mortality was very high.

Many of the stories have very strong Christian themes.
