Problem saving books to device

When I copy some books onto the Kindle Fire via Calibre they do not appear on the device. Calibre shows it is being saved, but the book is not under 'books' or 'docs'. So, after reading some threads I tried to convert the mobi book to another mobi book and removing the [EBOK] tab.

However, I get the message "Failed: Convert book 1 of 1". This is the details provided by the error message. Any help would be appreciated.

Spoiler:

That error indicat4es that the file you are trying to convert is not an actual mobi file, but something else with the incorrect mobi extension.
