calibre 1.0 and nexus 4 on ubuntu 12.10: MTPError (solved)
there seems to be some improvement with the recognition of the nexus 4 with the latest release of calibre (1.0) - at least now it sees the device, but it's still not working properly. i'm getting the following error message:
Device 0 (VID=18d1 and PID=4ee2) is a Google Inc (for LG Electronics/Samsung) Nexus 4/10 (MTP+ADB). Android device detected, assigning default bug flags Error while trying to open MTPDevice(busnum=1, devnum=4, vendor_id=6353, product_id=20194, bcd=552, serial=u'0071129a598f27aa', manufacturer=u'LGE', product=u'Nexus 4') (Driver: <calibre.devices.mtp.driver.MTP_DEVICE object at 0x2408590>) Traceback (most recent call last): File "site-packages/calibre/gui2/device.py", line 276, in detect_device File "site-packages/calibre/devices/mtp/driver.py", line 109, in open File "site-packages/calibre/devices/mtp/base.py", line 24, in synchronizer File "site-packages/calibre/devices/mtp/unix/driver.py", line 193, in open MTPError: The device has no storage information. this is with a ubuntu 12.10, and android 4.3. can connect to the device via adb without issue. has anyone been able to make it work? if you unlock the phone, this error message goes away, and the procedure works.
