The Glimpse: A Vision of America's Future - Top Rated [Kindle Edition]
Grant Carroll (Author)

http://www.amazon.com/The-Glimpse-Vi..._154606011_f_3

Quote:
The Dream
In 2007, God gave Grant Carroll a critical message for the American church through a chilling dream his wife had. Not long after, he began to notice uncanny similarities between the dream and real world events happening to Christians in the news as if the dream was giving predictions of the future. Grant felt led to turn the dream into a piece of Christian fiction that would grab people's attention, so they would understand the dire warning of coming persecution, before it's too late. That story is called The Glimpse, and its is for youth, young adults, parents, church leaders and the Christian Church at large. Its message is for you.

Story Synopsis
Austin Kelly is about to learn a lesson: Be careful when you pray for God to change you, because He answers prayer. Even though he's a Sunday School teacher, Austin's faith in Jesus Christ is no match for his fear of rejection from others. Lizzie Kelly has more courage than her husband, but struggles to find fulfillment and meaning in her job at their church. The couple's friends aren't faring much better. Computer tech Daniel Cabrera fights disappointment with the direction his career has taken, and even more frustration with the church youth he teaches. His wife, Jackie, strives to maintain a sense of control over her life, but it's quickly faltering. Faced with churches dying across New York City, the four Christian teachers have a cry in their hearts for their lives to make a difference. God answers their cry by throwing them into a world that looks like a nightmare version of the United States. Everything is so similar, yet totally different, starting with the fact that Christians are nearly extinct after decades of persecution. They soon discover it is a fascist nation, where anyone who professes faith in Christ risks their life. The four travelers encounter a group of teenagers that turn out to be one of the last surviving churches, led by their high school teacher, Eric Peterson. With no visible way to get home, Austin, Lizzie and their friends join the underground church in their fight to spread the Gospel while avoiding the National Police. Their task is made even more difficult when revival breaks out in the local high school and draws unwanted attention, but they know they can't stop until their work is complete and the Lord makes a way for them to go home...if there is one..

Desires of My Heart - Meditation on Psalm 37:4 [Kindle Edition]
Heather Bixler (Author)

http://www.amazon.com/Desires-My-Hea...154606011_f_33

Quote:
The TRUTH is...…You don’t have to be perfect to delight in the Lord. You don’t have to have it all together, or have the perfectly balanced life. For so long I thought before I could move forward in certain areas of my life I needed to at least have a perfectly balanced life.

But now I realize that isn’t so. God will bless your efforts, and He will honor your humility. So when you feel like delighting in Him requires action from you to improve or be better at being a Christian, know this, God is strong where ever you are weak, and your actions for the Lord will not go in vain.

I will say it again, God will honor your humility. When our hearts are filled with pride we remove our self from the presence of the Lord, but through humility we experience God in a whole new way, and that is when we finally know and experience what it means to delight in the Lord.

You do not have to be perfect, and the “Desires of My Heart” eBook is not about being perfect, it is about BECOMING – or moving – towards God and living a life delighted in Him, which will come when our hearts have been changed by Him.

Desires of My Heart is a devotional eBook based on Psalm 37:4. So many of us believers walk our Christian walk without really knowing what it means to delight in the Lord. In this eBook we answer that question "What does it mean to delight in the Lord?" "Desires of My Heart" is a powerful eBook that will help you work to get past any barriers you may have that is inhibiting your walk with the Lord, while also encouraging you to live a life guided by The Holy Spirit.

Derek Prince (Author)

http://www.amazon.com/Declaring-Gods...154606011_f_23

According to Scripture, Satan can be defeated if believers will stand on God s Word and testify to what it says about the mighty and powerful blood of Jesus. It is only by your testimony, however, and the truth you declare, that you will overcome the devil s schemes. For the first time ever, internationally renowned Bible teacher Derek Prince will lead you to power and victory each day in this 365-day devotional. Each week features a Scriptural declaration of truth to be confessed daily, along with Derek Prince s amazing insight and teaching.
By Declaring God s Word, you will:
Begin each day in the power of the Lord
Develop a peace that surpasses understanding
Experience powerful release from oppression and attack
Become steeped in God s Word
Discern truth from falsehood
Now you can experience the power of God all year long as you send the devil running by starting each day confessing the truth of God s Word!

Church Zero: Raising 1st Century Churches out of the Ashes of the 21st Century Church [Kindle Edition] Peyton Jones (Author)

http://www.amazon.com/Church-Zero-Ra...154606011_f_39

Quote:
A radical call to reform, Church Zero is a punk-rock approach to the pressing issue of gaining ground as rapidly as the early church.

With a fresh perspective forged in the dirty trenches of international post-Christian societies, Peyton Jones pulls no punches as he brings this message to the American Church: We have lost our way.

The church is losing ground fast: losing the generation under age 30 and drawing few nonbelievers toward Christ.

Christ gave us a leadership model for commando outreach, and the church has ignored it for too long. Will we continue down the path of self-preservation, defending our stalled church structures? Or will we follow the blueprint Jesus lays out?

Church Zero challenges readers to once again become a radical, dangerous people who cannot be ignored. It’s time to break out!

Bobby Richardson (Author), Joe Girardi (Foreword, Contributor), David Thomas (Contributor)

http://www.amazon.com/Impact-Player-...154606011_f_19

Quote:
Former Yankee Bobby Richardson played alongside Mickey Mantle, Roger Maris, Whitey Ford, Joe Pepitone, and Yogi Berra during one of the most prolific dynasties in baseball history, and he remains to this day the only player from the losing team ever to be named World Series MVP.

In Impact Player, Bobby shares his life story, including never-before-told tales from the Yankee clubhouse during the historic ’55-’65 pennant runs and World Series appearances. The book also features the unlikely friendship Richardson, a devout and outspoken Christian, shared with Yankee legend and renowned drinker and womanizer, Mickey Mantle.

The perfect combination of faith and baseball, Impact Player offers a rare glimpse into one of the most celebrated dynasties in the history of the game, and it paints a fascinating portrait of a life well-lived and the lasting rewards that come from knowing and loving God.

Let in Light: His Truth Every Morning for 31 Days (Sacred Mundane) [Kindle Edition]
Kari Patterson (Author)

http://www.amazon.com/Let-Light-Morn...154606011_f_31

Quote:
Every single day, first thing in the morning, we must let light into our world. We all must. Without His Light, we're lost. We're in darkness. We must daily turn on the Light of God's Word, to allow us to see. Without His light, we're lost. We'll see the world through a distorted lens. We won't know which way to go. We won't have the wisdom we need for decisions. We'll be stumbling along through life, groping in the dark each day, desperate for guidance, starving for hope.

He has given us everything we need for life and godliness. But we must let His light into our lives. Every single day. This little book helps you establish this light-letting-in habit: His truth every morning for 31 days.

"Your Word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path" (Psalm 119:105). "In Your light we see light" (Psalm 36:9).

Portraits of Integrity: Real People Who Demonstrated Godly Character (Volume 1) [Kindle Edition] Marilyn Boyer (Author), Grace Tumas (Author)

http://www.amazon.com/Portraits-Inte..._154606011_f_5

Quote:
One of the most powerful ways to inspire young people to greatness is through the stories of great people from the past. In Portraits of Integrity you and your children will be challenged to strive for excellence through the examples of 45 people in all three volumes who did just that. In Volume 1, they will meet:

--Jake DeShazer who was a prisoner of the Japanese during World War II. He was tortured and kept in solitary confinement for many months, but when a Bible came into his hands he became a Christian and later went to Japan to share the gospel with his former enemies.

--Lieutenant Adrian Marks, the brave young Navy pilot who set his seaplane down on a heaving, shark-infested ocean to pick up survivors of the sinking of the USS Indianapolis at the risk of his own life

--Lydia Darrah, the Quaker woman who overheard British plans to attack George Washington's unprepared army and cleverly took a secret warning to him, saving the army and the War of Independence.

And many others!

Sure to be an all-time family favorite, Portraits of Integrity will be treasured as a centerpiece of family devotions or as a part of Character Concepts Curriculum. Portraits of Integrity will inspire young people and their parents as well, with the examples of people who dared and did great deeds that have gone down in history.

Quote:
Book 1 of THE BELLS OF LOWELL. The mill town of Lowell, Massachusetts, comes to life with intrigue and drama from the creative writing team of Judith Miller and Tracie Peterson. Young women at the end of the 19th century seek employment from driven men intent on transforming America's textile industry. Daughtersof the Loom features Lilly Armbruster, who is forced to work in the mills as her only means for survival. But Lilly's resentment runs deep against the "lords of the loom"--the men she believes have stolen her father's farm and caused his premature death. Her animosity happens to include Matthew Cheever, her childhood friend and one-time betrothed. Though separated by their opposing views about the future of the mill and the community that surrounds it, the emotions of their hearts still bind them. Will their dreams for the future allow their fragile love to survive?

Two veteran novelists team up in this evangelical Christian historical fiction series debut that explores interesting social issues, but eventually falls flat. Nineteenth-century New England is in the throes of change as it morphs from an agricultural economy to textile industry. Caught in the growing pains of her little town of Lowell, Mass., is the comely Lilly Armbruster, who has lost the family farm through the death of her parents and the greed of her older brother. Her devotion to the ambitious Matthew Cheever is dispelled when he seemingly sells out his values to become the prot‚g‚ of a dubious business mentor. Lilly contracts to work in the textile mills with the idea of becoming an "instrument of God" and sabotaging the business that she feels has cost her everything she loves. The story begins promisingly enough with some discerning historical insights about the problems of industrialization for women and ethnic groups (sexual harassment, poor working conditions, prejudicial treatment), but the pacing is slow, the dialogue and actions are often wooden and the abundant sermonizing is a constant distraction. Although there are some surprises in the character development of Lilly and Matthew, other characters are one-dimensional and undergo unbelievable transformations too quickly. The sulky Lilly is also difficult for the reader to like. However, fans of Peterson and Miller will likely appreciate that the authors wrap up enough loose ends to make this work not only as a stand-alone title but also as an introduction to the series.
