Hi.

My PE stops working a few days ago, so I downgraded to DINGO, then, today, after the help of this forum to get the correct file - again!, upgraded to Ermine+Allmine.

And again, the problem with "unsupported device. Passion", as I had in the past with my 2 PE and 1 EE.
I allways fixed using ES Explorer, rooting, and modifying the prop.build file... but this time it doesn't work.

I've already performed the 'downgrade+upgrade' routine 3 times, and it doesn't allow access to mount the drive or save the file properly...

Anyone got a different solution? I mean, to open pdf files in tablet only by pressing on the file?

Are you trying to use ES File Explorers built in root functionality? Did you try running z4root on your eDGe? I have a PE which I upgraded to Allmine and I edited the prop file no prob. I have always had to use Root Explorer, though, to get at system files.

Hi. First, thanks.

This Root Explorer is an app, or is a functionality of the other app, z4root?
Or, better, if I install z4root I'll be able to use this Root Explorer?

Sorry, should have been more clear - z4root is a rooting app available on amazons app market (dunno if it is in the playstore). Root Explorer is a file explorer that requires a rooted device to run properly. It lets you mount the read only system partitions and all are r/w and other things. Works very well.

Thanks, but I've managed to solve the problem without that app.

For the ones with the same trouble, here's my solution, after the help of helf:

1. I tried to find z4root in the playstore, and find out that Google forbid any root apps in the store;
2. Considering that in the first 5 times that I updated and/or 'reformatted', if we can say that, my 3 eDGe's, I've used the ES Explorer to modify build.prop, I used Root Checker to confirm that the PE was rooted - wich was;
3. I tried 3 more times, unsuccessfully, to modify build.prop, using ES Explorer;
4. Finnaly, I downloaded Root Browser and was able to made the modification.

Now everything is ok again - even considering that Documents to Go isn't the best office app that exists. I prefer Quick Office, but I really like to be able to open my pdf files in the tablet without have to open an app first.
