Which book (title/author) was used.
What are the messages in the log file: c/users/username/appdata/local/tmp/BOL_NL_identify_test.txt (windows 7)

Than I can take a look.

Mhh..don't have a windows pc but I'm going to look for the log file. ABout the author/title:
I've imported hundreds of books and selected them al for a bulk search for metadata...this works for searches on amazon but not for the bol.com plugin.

I see, you dont have problems without a bulk search.
In that case, I think it is possible it the dialogs may be the cause, p.e. if you selected to see other titles in case of a mismatch.

In addition: most books DO work, even in bulk. But some of the individual books give a error that make the whole bulk batch error instead of a message at the end that i.e. it hasn't found cover/or description from 9 of 16 books.

Because of these 'corrupt' files, doing a bulk metadata search with the BOL plugin is impossible...

I myself do not use bulk searches, but I did a test under windows, and no errors occured, although titles where not found and the dialog for an alternative title was shown in between.
Afterwards I got a window with the titles that were not found, no error.

Maybe it is caused by the titles your are using, if you can give an example I can test that too. ( I am using windows, maybe that matters). I do not use the amazon plugin in.

Hello!

Have some problems with the Bol.complugin. When I do a (bulk) metadata update I get an error. If I deactivate (not use it) there is no problem. Upon start I get confirmation that search has strated. I can see also that it starts with the first book in the jobs list. When I do an individual update some books go well and others not. Why??

Run on a mac 10.8.2 and run the latest version.

Error message is:

In my opinion, if the bol plug-in works fine on the individual titles, the problem is related to the bulk meta-download.
If I am right: When trying to upload many titles, Calibre split them into smaller batches, using parellel processes.

That error message indicates the worker process calibre uses to download
metadata is not responding, most probably because it has been blocked by
your system anti-virus. Disable the antivirus or add exceptions to it
for calibre.exe and calibre-paralllel.exe. ( answer kovid in a bug report).

If the problem is related to a certain title, please let me know, so I can take a look at it.

Hello!

It has nothing to do with bulk or individual update. Some books are fine and others not. So system is not blocked and I also do not get any notice from port tool. Below a book with problem.

I did som test with the title you gave:
I can reproduce any error: the only thing is the dialog that give you some options to choose, if the title did not match exactly.
The dialog is also shown when used in the bulk_metadata download.

before:

dialog

after:

Which version of bol_nl do you use?

What is the error you get with this title . The logs you gave are of calibre itself. The logs from the plugin are maybe more specific: In the dialog of the metadata search: "show log" or in dutch "log weergeven"

Why not speak Dutch; it's a Dutch plugin??

I'm using version: 2.2.1

Below some additional screenshots. I cannot see more logging details then I already did. Any advice???

I found out a bit. If I uncheck show rejected titles ..

then I get another window:

and when I do an individual check I get another log:

But when I do a manual check at Bol.com I get info with Millennium 3 - Gerechtigheid

http://www.bol.com/nl/s/algemeen/zoe...questid=173965

Whenever I add the ISBN number and do then a search all is fine!

OK,

the moderators like to folow the discussions and the language of the forum is english. So anyone can join.
Besides that you can pm me in dutch,if you like.

Thanks for the update, it is quite a lot.
I noticed some things:

First comments on the error messages of the individual books:

een keukenmeidenroman / druk 1
"/druk 1 " makes that there is no exact match.
With rejected titels you get no good options if the writer is unknown
if the correct writer is given , the rejected titles should give a good option.

milennium 3 - Gerechtigd
the "-" is not found on Bol.com, they use ":";
so there is no exact match. But if you gave the author in the query, the rejected title dialog should give you a good option, which the plugin could use.

So I can explain the errors that far.
Did you use the option of rejected titles ( I presume yes), and is the dialog shown during the batch/bulk?

Sometimes it take more time to find and download a cover ( dont no why). In that case the worker ( a seperate process to find and download the metadata), maybe needs too much time , so the the main program presumes there is no communication anymore with the worker.
Are you using dizzie and bol at the same time?

Do you use dizzie and bol at the same time?

With the bulk are you searching for both metadata and cover or just the cover?

One more thing I mentioned, but I cannot imagine that is part of the problem, your language is set to english in Cailbre.

I can understand the errors on the indidividual books, bit you should get the option for rejected titles.

Thanks for your reply. The plugin seems to be sensitive to not correct titles I think. It then just stops processing the books. So I have to check book by book.

I'm on a Mac too and I have the same problem with some titles giving the errors described above. I don't think I have ever seen the dialog where you can choose the correct title for a book. Could that functionality be incompatible with Mac and cause the process to crash?
Maybe an option could be added do disable this dialog and always choose the most likely option?
