That's not the only way though:

ALTERNATELY ON KINDLE:
wrap the same above code in a named shell script on the kindle and call/kill that to get updates.

There are many more notes about using this application on it's thread and littered about.

Also on the later devices the output colour will likely be inverted in colour. I have no fix for this yet.

Touchscreen support for the Touch and PW is IN PROGRESS at the moment.

We have attached the latest build at this time for the KINDLE TOUCH and PAPERWHITE.

PLEASE REFER TO https://github.com/chrox/kindlepdfviewer for UPSTREAM code on that.

The current kindlePDFviewer build does NOT support Touch and PW "Out Of The Box": The TOUCH / PW versions can be found kindlepdfviewer-FOR-THE-TOUCH/PW ARE HERE and these DO support these later touchscreen devices.
Touchscreen support is in the ALPHA stage so don't expect perfection... but it works.

The KUAL extension itself should now work on all devices.
NOTE: libreator comes with its own KUAL extension,
NOTE2: KPDF now includes KUAL extension BY DEFAULT so you probably don't need the below files anymore.

Doesn't work OOTB on older models . We couldn't make it work consistently in tests on a touch. We almost got it working on all models but not without odd reboots. which bothered us.

It's a nice idea but we recommend collection manager for the TOUCH and PW until FolderToggle is proven as working and sane.

It is possible to play against engines: GNU Chess, Sjeng, Crafty, Stockfish and also over network – on chess servers, such as FICS, or directly with other eboard users. While online you can also watch other players games. Eboard reads and writes chess games in PGN (Portable Game Notation) format. Default folder for storing PGN files is "eboard/bin/settings/games". You can access it from the "Windows->Games on Client…" menu

Virtual keyboard pops up when input fields are clicked. It hides when focus is taken out of entry field or a return key is pressed. Sometimes keyboard pops up on top of input field and obscures this field, so that one can't see what they are typing. But I don't have a solution for it now.
