I wanted to pre-order a couple in order to get 40% off with the available code which was supposed to expire yesterday. Turns out the code is still working today (as of 9am US central time) so I was able to get one book that came out today.


As to the larger general question. I've only pre-ordered stuff when there's a really good deal involved and I want to make sure I get that price, but I know a few people who like to be able to pre-order a book when they hear about it and not have to remember when it comes out.

RIP indeed, I bought 19 books in January, and I think 16 in December. The 40% off was definitely a motivating and deciding factor in all of those purchases. So while my credit card can rest easy for awhile, at least I have lots of reading to do! And yet a sick part of me can't wait for the next big discount code!

That's too bad about none of the 35-45% codes working, guess I won't be buying at Kobo for awhile then! I mean, I know we've all been spoiled, but saving something is better than nothing! I'm sure some of the codes 20-30% codes from the main page still work though?
