I'm hoping Science Fiction wins. It's the best category not yet chosen for 2013.

So many great categories for this month...I started to vote and found I was checking half the list. Hmmm...what to do?!

No problem! Thats the good part about having a multiple choice vote. Vote for everything you like. The only vote I, personally, would count as "silly" is voting for ALL of the selections. At that point you could just sit back and watch; but if there is even one category you don't particularly want, then vote for everything but that one.

Also rooting for non-fiction. Reality is interesting.

Not if it is reality TV. Then it just becomes silly.

To be serious for a moment.
July is the height of summer. It's the best time for going out and doing things that are not reading. Non-fiction tends to be larger books. July is one of the wort months for reading such tombs. August is no good as well as it's the time to spend with the Kinds before school starts. September is no good as that's the ending of the summer. October or November would better be served with such possibly large tombs. So let's give October or November to non-fiction and let Science-Fiction have July.

So you're arguing that since July is a month where people don't have much time to pay attention to what they read, we should do science-fiction. And I thought you liked sci-fi.

You misread. I was saying that smaller works will work better in July because of less time to read. Yes, there are some very large works of Science Fiction, but overall, more Non-Fiction is large.

And some classic works of non-fiction are surprisingly brief. Take The True Believer by Eric Hoffer or the Tractatus Logico-Philosophicus by Ludwig Wittgenstein. The first is 192 pages; the second is only 96 pages.

I know not all Non-fiction is large. But take biographies. They can be very large. For example, Steve Jobs.
