The original source mentioned no source, no name. Just assumption. Notice they used the word "alleged" and "rumours".

It goes something like this:

Since LG is making the next generation of their flagship phone, they won't have the production capacity to produce their "older" phone. Which mean it will be discontinue.

It makes as much sense as Samsung stopping production of the Samsung Galaxy S3 to make room for the production of the Galaxy S4

No, it's just an error, someone using the wrong word, it should be ceased (probably the author of the article is a non-English speaker).

I presume seized means the same in the UK as it does elsewhere, "to take hold of"

I don't think the backorder (at least on the 16GB version) is a bad as the estimated shipping dates might indicate. I placed orders Dec 4,10, and 13th. At the time of each order I was given a 5-6 week estimate. All three arrived Jan 4th. YMMV.

Meanwhile, LG has denied the report, and made further comments in France where Cathy Rubin, LG France’s Mobile division director talked to Challenges.fr about Nexus 4 production, availability and sold out status.

According to the exec, Nexus 4 production has not been stopped, and it will be increased in the following months. Apparently it’s not LG at fault for the lengthy delivery times but Google’s.

The Search giant is said to have missed the mark when ordering Nexus 4 units. Google reportedly used sales data from the previous Nexus model to place Nexus 4 orders, but these numbers “were lower than the actual demand.” Starting from mid-February, “there will no longer be any tension in the market,” according to the exec.

Good news is that LG is producing the Nexus 4 at 20,000 units per day right now.

p.s Nexus 4 is at 685,000 right now.

Quite a big jump from 375,000 just 16-17 days ago.
