Why didn't I start reading this sooner??!!

Holy crap this first book is FANTASTIC!!

What are you finding you like about it or are you just a fan of all Trek books? When I used to read Trek books I found some of them to be great and some to be not so good. I haven't read a Trek book in about 15-20 years, but these sound interesting so might be something I'd grab (unless this series is a sequel to one or two earlier series I haven't read). I've had a bit of an interest in getting back into these books in the past couple years, but so far haven't gotten anything to read.

In my opinion, all of the current trek are great. So much better than years ago.

But this series takes place on a Space station during the time of the original series. But dont think its like DS9. The writing and characters are just so well done. I just passed the 30% mark and there was an awesome space battle between a federation ship and tholians. Had me turning pages like crazy.

I was just checking out the series on Amazon and I guess at this point I'll have to pass unless I can find a couple of the books cheaper. Reap the Whirlwind is showing as $20.39 and Precipice is showing at $10.67. That's beyond what I'm willing to spend.

I haven't picked up Trek books for a while (Not since the Excalibur Series); have they switched to the new timeline or are they ignoring it?

If you want to buy Star trek eBooks, do so at BooksOnBoard. The prices are a lot cheaper. I know they are ePub. But if you strip the DRM and convert to AZW3 with Calibre, you'll be all set.

Same price for UK readers. £3.99 at both Amazon and BoB. And they're agency, so you can't use BoB "reward dollars" for them.

The paperback of "Reap the Whirlwind" is an eye-watering £28.99 (about $46) on Amazon UK. Has to be an error, surely?

Is there a thread around here that talks about procedures for traveling to the UK for BoB purposes? There are other UK books I'd like to be able to buy.

This is what makes sense...

Because of the lawsuit, S&S is having to stop agency pricing. So, because of this, shops like BooksOnBoard can discount Star Trek eBooks. But books like Reap the Whirlwind are available in print only as print-on-demand at a higher price. So making the prices close to the print version (which in this case is print-on-demand), S&S gets to raise the eBook price without doing anything that gets them in trouble with the Department of Justice. It's sleazy and unethical, but it's legal.
