I've never actually made a reading goal before, but thanks to GoodReads I know that I read eighteen to twenty-two books on average each year, alongside a random selection of comic books and manga. It seems like excellent fun to jump on this bandwagon, though, so my (various short) goals for 2013 are:

001. Read the W.I.T.C.H. comic book / graphic novel series.
  1. Part I: The Twelve Portals
  2. Part II: Nerissa's Revenge
  3. Part III: A Crisis On Both Worlds
  4. Part IV: The Trial Of The Oracle
  5. Part V: The Book Of Elements
  6. Part VI: Ragorlang
  7. Part VII: New Power
  8. Part VIII: Teach 2b Witch
  9. Part IX: 100% Witch
  10. Part X: Ladies vs. W.I.T.C.H.
  11. Part XI: Magical Sovereign

002. Read five works from the public domain.
  1. Jane Eyre by Charlotte Brontë
Note: "Public Domain" is used loosely, as my country of residence has a life + 70 copyright law and so I may purchase books which are in the public domain in life + 50 countries and count these as part of this goal. Perhaps.

003. (Re-)Read The Obernewtyn Chronicles by Isobelle Carmody.
  1. Obewnewtyn
  2. The Farseekers
  3. Ashling
  4. The Keeping Place
  5. The Stone Key
  6. The Sending
  7. The Red Queen (to be released)

004. Read Viking by Tim Severin.
  1. Odinn's Child
  2. Sworn Brother
  3. King's Man

005. (Re-)Read A Song Of Ice And Fire by George R.R. Martin.
  1. A Game Of Thrones
  2. A Clash Of Kings
  3. A Storm Of Swords
  4. A Feast For Crows
  5. A Dance With Dragons
  6. The Winds Of Winter (to be released)
  7. A Dream Of Spring (to be released)

2012, I set a goal of 75 books which I did meet. This year, I'm going to be reading a lot more larger books and I doubt I'll get to 75 books. But, I like knowing how many I've read, So as Yoda would say, track I shall.

My Books for 2013

Blue = To be read
Red = Currently reading
Black = read
Bold = Series name

Click the covers for more information on each book.

001. In Death 19 - Visions in Death by J.D. Robb
002. Word & Void 01 - Running with the Demons by Terry Brooks
003. Among Others by Jo Walton
004. Word & Void 02 - A Knight of the Word by Terry Brooks
005. A Town Like Alice by Nevil Shute

Goal: 50,000 pages read.

I've never really given myself a reading challenge before, but I suspect that it's an excellent way to integrate myself with a new forum over the course of the year and to help me decide upon the perfect e-book reader for me through deliberately frequent usage. As such, my primary goal is to read 50,000 pages for the year (based on the page count displayed within books in my PRS-T2 Reader).

Books Read:

001. Jack Of Diamonds by Bryce Courtenay; 646
002. Storm Front by Jim Butcher; 233
003. Fool Moon by Jim Butcher; 273 (currently reading)

Progress:

879/50,000

50 books, of which only 25 mystery/crime/thriller, and at least 10 of those books should be in Dutch.

January:
#1 Tonio by A.F.Th. van der Heijden. 471 p (1/10 Dutch)
#2 A Caribbean Mystery by Agatha Christie. 145 p (1/25 Mystery)
#3 The Pale Horseman by Bernard Cornwell. 384 p
#4 De Wezenlozen by Wietske Versteeg (2/10 Dutch)
#5 Hulpgids ADHD (not considering this a Dutch book, since it's a translation, not Dutch literature...)
#6 Happy Birthday Turk by Jacob Arjouni (2/25 Mystery)
#7 Dit zijn de namen by Tommy Wieringa (3/10 Dutch)
#8 Currently reading: The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins

Total pages: 2136 p
