2013 is 15 minutes old in Sweden.
I started reading a book 11.30 pm because it's too much fireworks going on to be able to sleep. Turned out the book is a page-turned so sleep may be cancelled anyway!

The Space Needle looks like it's going to take off. Actually, it would be pretty cool if the saucer section flew off and landed in Elliott Bay.

Golly!!! We had about 33, but the wind is SW, so it's a consolation of sorts .... well better than a Westerly anyway.

Oh yep, what a joke re Minogue. I hope she contributed to some of the cost somewhere along the line.

Tubemonkey, Sydney spends quite some millions on the Fireworks display, and always uses the Bridge as a backdrop.

The powers that be say that as our New Year hits the world press while the rest are still on hours of countdown to come, that it serves as a Tourism brochure!!!!

Irrespective, I like the fact that we do it for ourselves - not because of some bullo Tourism promo.

Yeah, Sydney goes all out and they do it twice. Once for the kids at 9 and then at midnight.
The fireworks go for about 15 minutes. This video is almost 5 hrs long so scrub forward to 4:20 for the start. The best bit is at about 4:30.

Had a quiet New Year's here. I attended a party held by my church and napped through the stroke of 12. I've been dealing with a cold for the last few weeks so staying in was best with how cold it is here.
