Kobo Mini rooting

I've been following the instructions for the Touch and I've added the line at the end of the rcS file to run /mnt/onboard/run.sh.

then I've added these in the run.sh
Code:
cp /etc/inittab /mnt/onboard
cp /etc/inetd.conf /mnt/onboard
However after rebooting I only get the inetd.conf file copied across, not the inittab, any ideas? Seems very strange that it runs the second part of the run.sh and not the first.

My next step is to mount the SD Card image and have a root through the file system manually and see what's in there.

To see what exactly is happening, edit your line in rcS that calls run.sh to look like this:
Code:
/mnt/onboard/run.sh > /mnt/onboard/run.log 2>&1
Now all the output from run.sh will be put into run.log, so you can see what's going wrong.

Very odd, I was messing about and ended up putting this in my run.sh

Code:
cp /etc/inittab /mnt/onboard/
cp /etc/inetd.conf /mnt/onboard/
cp -R /etc /mnt/onboard/etc/
however it just kept producing

Code:
cp: can't create '
/inittab': No such file or directory
cp: omitting directory '/mnt/onboard'
cp: can't create '
/inetd.conf': No such file or directory
cp: omitting directory '/mnt/onboard'
cp: can't create directory '
/etc': No such file or directory
cp: can't create directory '
/etc': No such file or directory

However putting those 3 lines in the rcS file and it worked fine. Not sure what happened there, I literally copied and pasted it over. Only difference is I edit the rcS file in linux and the run.sh on Windows, must be line endings but I don't see how it could be.

Anyway, now have the entire /etc directory so I can move on to step 2 now.
