No police- escort since Assyut, but we have to give our route. I have seen many fantastic things in Luxor, the Valley of Kings and in the temple of Karnak. Astounding all.

I'm in Aswan now and am going to see Abu Simbel on wednesday; a long ride through the desert and back, but the plane is not a good option any more.
We have to drive in convoy though...

Thursday by train to Caïro. There a demonstrations now on the Tahrir square, so it is good I walked it last week. We'll see.

Good morning, everyone! Happy Tuesday! I have a great big mug of East India Company's "Royal Breakfast" tea to start my day. I have go into Kyoto today and buy some more. I'm out of three of my standards and need to re-stock, so today's long walk will be from Kyoto Station heading north to the import store an the street of Kyoto's third bridge (a reference for those who remember reading 'Shogun.')

Wait a minute! I thought 'Tim Tams' were from the UK?!?
I never saw them before I shopped in Tessco in Thailand. They were pointed out to me by some Brit friends. I just assumed that they were a British treat! Humph! We live and learn... Actually, my downfall is Walker Shortbread Cookies, even without the chocolate... but I'm easy.

Me too! Me too! I need some international travel. I'm getting too Japanified!

I'm going to pour another mug of tea, practice playing some Christmas Carols for my Senior Citizens class, (which is difficult for an American Jewish/Taoist in Japan) and go for a walk!
