kobo glo web browser?

Hi,
I have just downloaded the kobo glo user guide just to see its capabilities. I have not seen anything about a web browser. Does the glo have a web browser or an email application? It would be nice to be able to check my mail and do small things.

I ordered my glo yesterday and can't wait for it to arrive.
Thanks,

Penny

Then who supports it ? And for that matter who wrote the code for it ?

It is written by Kobo but the point is they do not put much effort into fixing issues with it.

Apparently browsing the web is a much better experience on the Glo than the Touch, thanks to the more powerful CPU, higher contrast, etc. Haven't tried it on the Glo myself, but on the Touch it was certainly not a pleasant experience.

I see.
On the other hand, I did not buy a book reader to surf online, truth be told e-ink is not the best way to enjoy a webpage. If I wanted to browse the web I would have gotten a Kobo Arc or Kindle Fire.

But you can use it to get to Project Gutenberg (they have a mobile site http://m.gutenberg.org/ ) and start downloading...

I was able to use the Kobo Glo web browser to download books onto the device from Humble Bundle, Delphi Classics and Smashwords.

I use it to access the books I keep on my DropBox, and read the mobile version of the NY Times. Awesome. Indisepensible.

How do you work it with Dropbox? I went into mine and saw the books but there was only a share link, not a download link.

Ironically enough, you have to switch to the desktop version of the Dropbox.com website once you've logged in. Dropbox.com detects the glo's browser as a mobile one.

Once in "Desktop version" of the website, I just single-tapped one of my books (extension .epub), and the Glo just went and added it to my library with no further muss or fuss.
