A house like that was my favorite stop at the old Silver Dollar City in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee. Unfortunately, when Dolly Parton took it over and made it Dollywood, while most of the other attractions remained intact, she took out all the gravity-defying aspects of that building and turned it into the Dolly Parton Museum. I wish she had scraped any other attraction instead for her museum.

Very funny, but the idea was likely stolen from Alan Moore, who in the 3rd issue of his comic book series Tomorrow World (pub. 20 October 1999) had a story called "Pet Theory" featuring the recurring character Jack B. Quick, a farm boy with an off-the charts I.Q. and an undying curiosity about science that always led to mayhem. In Moore's tale, the cat/buttered toast experiment took an unexpected twist—Jack neglected to take into account the way cats spin their tails; which produced a propeller effect and the cats all flew into the sky. Eventually everything was returned to normal, but I don't want to say more lest I spoil the story for those who may be interested in reading it.
