Gorgeous day - in the 70's F & sunny -- went out to tackle some of the mountains of leaves brought down by the past few weeks of rain & wind -- and got strafed by bees & wasps! It's November! Go hibernate already!

Lost power and phone/internet during Sandy's visit. The power was out for almost exactly a week. The phone and internet connection (Verizon FiOS) came back Monday night -- almost exactly 2 weeks.

I awoke at 5 and took the dogs outside. Seeing there was a beautiful starlit sky, I ran back in, grabbed my iPad, and opened the astronomy app. Unfortunately, the app wouldn't orient to the sky. I think the overhead power lines were affecting its compass.
