Coverting books with photograph section

I am trying to convert a book to epub and mobi formats but the photograph section ends up all over the screen, and the corresponding captions get moved to the next page. Do I insert a page break between each photo/caption or do I delete it? Do I leave set spaces above the caption for the photo or do I eliminate it and just insert the processed photo in the html? (I am still trying to build that 'fridge in kindergarten...I think I got the door built...)

If the pages with photos do not have text (other than captions), one option is to make the entire page, including the captions, a photo, and put page breaks around it.

That's the only option which will guarantee predictable results. There's a similar discussion somewhere else in relation to tables. The "page layout" of an ebook will change depending on the device and the font size the reader has selected. If you're after a particular look, then this may be the wrong medium.

if you're comfortable editing the html you can wrap images and captions together in a div, and then set the div to display:inline-block or pagebreak-indside:avoid. ie
