Kindle without Google
Just a quick query; I think I know the answer.
Is it possible to by-pass Google to obtain Kindle on my mobile? I already have a Kindle device and Kindle for PC, but seem unable to obtain Android version from Amazon, only from Google.
I noticed that immediately I did that, for example, Google immediately hijacked my contacts folder and added its own non-deletable section. I can do without this extra detritus. I simply wish to be able to read my Kindle books on my phone.

What kind of android phone?

When I go to Google I use another Gmail account. Before I hooked up to Google, I removed all contacts from that account.

You can download the Kindle APK file, side-load it onto your phone and install from your phone's file explorer.

I did a Google search (ironic, isn't it?) for "kindle 3.7 android apk" and the first entry that came up had the latest APK file.

You shouldn't have a hard time acquiring kindle directly from Amazon using the Amazon app store. Getting it that way means it stays updated as well.
