Consider the sequence of numbers 1 through 9 arranged in order: 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 Using only the arithmetical operations plus (+) and minus (-) group these numbers without change in order to compute the number 100. The numbers can be merged to form a larger number. Here is one example: 1+2+34-5+67-8+9 = 100 This required use of six + or – operations. Find a solution that uses the minimum number of operations. It is less than 6. Same question only now reverse the order of the numbers; I.e. 9 8 7 6 5 4 3 2 1

Not quite. There is a solution using only three operands.

Yes, it takes at four operands for the reverse order.

Not sure about all the other awards, but he definitely won an Oscar (for Traffic).

Somehow seeing him crooning love songs just boggles my mind.

Issybird did get it right. Notice the "Hey you guys" reference? That was from when she was on The Electric Company PBS show. She is 80 now -- and still pretty. BTW, if you can win an Emmy, a Grammy, an Oscar, and a Tony you make otherwise awesome people look like a bunch of slackers. Last edited by Daithi; 10-11-2012 at 12:45 PM.

Ah, is one of those awards for singing? I just assumed that they were all acting things.
