Is it from a board game of some sort? Or following a sports circuit?

I think Shayne Parkinson got it. It's a board game, but I'm not saying which one because I don't have a question.

Hmmm..some kind of trick question then?
Is it a word thing based on the state abbreviations (not that I can see anything there)?

Once a board game was mentioned
. I can't come up with a quiz question myself so I will also keep what I believe is certain to be the solution to myself.

It could be. Is it an American version of Monopoly, as Sneaky was implying?

Since my last question was a dud. Here's a math one as this should be universal.
A string is tied tightly around the Earth's equator. An additional 10 feet is spliced in. If the slack is evenly distributed, how high off the Earth's surface will the string be? |

It won't be above the surface, gravity will pull it down.

Please exclude the effects of gravity.
Although, I do like your realism. |

First thought is that it must be 10ft divided by the circumference of the earth (i.e. a very small number). However, my second thought is that this would have all kinds of bells and sirens going off on QI, so probably not that.
My third thought is that pi is involved, in which case this is probably too mathematical for me. My fourth thought is that perhaps the answer is 10ft (for reasons I can't articulate), so that's my guess

Quote:
Add 10 feet. New string length is τr+10. Radius of new circle with circumference τr+10 is (τr+10)/τ = r+10/τ. So it will be 10/τ feet above the surface. That's about 1.6 feet.
