Hmmm, a tech site with a review of a new tech gadget that comes out this week?
I think the FBI needs to investigate!

Engadget and The Verge need to be investigated too, they put out reviews also.

At that link, the eink blacks look washed out (gray) in those photos. Nothing like the promotional photos from amazon. I hope mine does not look that bad in real life.

Absolutely no review has mentioned any sort of contrast degradation. I wouldn't worry about it.

I have the NookGlo and am buying the PW because it's suppose to have better contrast.. more Black over White .. I hope that is true.. the NookGlo is kinda washed out looking.

Actually, to do a proper review, you'll need maybe 24 weeks with the PW to see how well the battery lasts. You'll need to do a test with no light. A test with the light and a test with mixed. It could be less then 24 weeks or it could be more. But it won't be anytime soon to be able to do a proper review.

All of these early tech reviewers were given advance hardware from Amazon, probably either at the announcement event (when many of them also got Kindle Fire HD hardware to review), or sometime after so they have time to use the device and get a good impression of it before they write their reviews

Well, I don't think anyone in the market can afford 24 weeks for a full review. By the time you're ready, someone else already came with the news. Then yours is "old news".

If you check Lisa, her reviews are posted almost same or next day, after she actually receives the gadget.
