Autobiography and Recipes of Col. Harland Sanders

You can download the Story seperately from the recipes...and no, the secret recipes are not in it lol!

https://yumcs.com/cookbook/downloads.html

Foreword by Pete Harman

On September 9, 1890, a legend was born in Henryville, Indiana. His name was Harland Sanders, but for those of us that knew him, and for the millions around the world that know of him, he's simply, the Colonel. His humble beginnings and varied career path laid the foundation for a life that symbolizes the American Dream.

The Colonel's life was a life of ups and downs, and probably more downs than ups in his earlier years. His dream of success, like most great entrepreneurs, centered around the values of hard work, honesty, loyalty, recognition, giving back, and most of all, passion. He was passionate about hospitality, he was passionate about delicious home-cooked meals, and more than anything he was passionate about his Original Recipe, the secret blend of 11 herbs and spices.

Talk with Your Mouth Full: The Hearty Boys Cookbook [Kindle Edition]
Dan Smith (Author), Steve McDonagh (Author), Laurie Proffitt (Photographer)

http://www.amazon.com/Talk-Your-Mout...ital-text_f_91

The original winners of The Next Food Network Star bring their signature style of casual entertaining to their first book. These Hearty Boys don't solve literary mysteries, but they sure are great at demystifying party-throwing. Dan Smith and Steve McDonagh are two guys who never attended culinary school yet build one of Chicago's most popular catering businesses, and now run the popular restaurant Hearty. Their self-deprecating, natural approach to cooking, which made them such a hit on the Food Network, comes through on every page. Packed with exciting but accessible recipes, clever how-to tips, and a gaggle of tales from the catering trenches, this is a truly entertaining guide to the art of entertaining.

Featured recipes include hors d'oeuvres, starters, main dishes, side dishes, desserts, and libations. Nibble on Gorgonzola, Fig, and Pecan Cheese Terrine, or pass Seared Ahi on Wonton Crisps. Or sit down to enjoy Balsamic Mushroom Chicken and Oven-roasted Root Veggies, and finish the meal with Chocolate Cream Cheese Cupcakes. Talk with Your Mouth Full offers help on everything from chilling wine to decorating a buffet table, as well as complete menus and planning advice. It's the ultimate guide to enjoying good food and good company.

Frugal Tips and Recipes for the Wise Homemaker [Kindle Edition] Sheri Graham (Author, Editor)

http://www.amazon.com/Frugal-Tips-Re...154606011_f_64

This ebook is organized in such a way so that you will enjoy just sitting down and reading through it. Recipes and tips will be sprinkled throughout as ladies from my newsletter list share what has worked for them. I felt to keep each lady’s recipes, tips, and thoughts together would better give you an idea where each lady is coming from. I want to personally thank each one who sent me a recipe and/or tip for this ebook. I pray you are blessed as each one shares what has worked in their home and in their family, and you are able to find some frugal ideas to try. I know I learned some new things as I read and researched for this project! In these uncertain times, we need to do what we can to help each other. Sharing from our homemaking experiences is one way we can mentor each other… in the spirit of Titus 2.

Retro Family Recipes - Old Fashioned Recipes from the 1960's - 1990's [Kindle Edition]
LeeAnne Jones (Author)

http://www.amazon.com/Retro-Family-R...ital-text_f_11

Quote:
Remember back when you were a kid and your Mom had those favorite, dishes she would make? Remember all the new and interesting dishes that you could sample at every party, cookout and family gathering?

You might have thought those old recipes were gone for good, but I've dug up a cache of old retro family recipe cards that span from the 1960's - 1990's which are bound to include some of those childhood favorites that you've been longing for!

I've taken 35 recipes from these old fashioned recipe cards and translated them into this cookbook! Inside you'll find retro recipes for breads, side dishes, main meals and, of course, desserts (those are my favorite!). And, if you really want to relive those days of your youth, then I've also included some interesting information from that era in each recipe that is sure to spark your memory and even make you chuckle.

I've made sure the recipe directions were easy to follow, all ingredients can be purchased in modern times and I've even added in nutritional information for each recipe.

So, why not let your taste buds take a trip down memory lane?

Not on Kindle, but at B&N there are several cookbooks free tonight - search for Agate in NookBooks, then sort by price. You should find 5 (I think) and three non-cookbooks (the ones with cover images are the ones that are interesting - no cover == scanned public domain, usually).

Food and love have had a long association, for Passionate Cooks: Free Recipes From Today’s Hottest Romance Authors, over 150 authors of the genre have put their pens and computers aside to don aprons, get down and dirty in the kitchen, and share their love of food.
Much like romance novels themselves, the dishes range from spicy to sweet. There is something for every taste and every level of culinary expertise. The cookbook includes New York Times and USA Today bestselling author Mari Carr’s “Wild Irish” Cream of Crab Soup recipe. Western GBLT author BA Tortuga contributes a dish as spicy and colorful as the straight-shooting author herself with Ranch Hands—a blend of Tabasco, salsa, onions and cumin, added to pinto beans, eggs, Canadian bacon and cheddar cheese and served in a tortilla. And for those of you who are feeling extra creative and sexy, there’s the Avocado Dip that doubles as body paint from mystery writer Marcia James.

Some recipes are simple, such as Down Home Mac & Cheese, while some are more exotic, such as Spicy Shrimp Risotto. There are even some gluten-free selections, like the Sweet and Spicy Gluten-Free Lo Mein-ish Noodles from erotica author Sommer Marsden. And a few are perfectly timed for a Halloween, such as Tracey H. Kitt’s Gamberi del Diavolo or Shrimp of the Devil.

Best of all, they are FREE!

Quote:
With the demise of home economics in the school system, many adults have no baking experience at all, relying on dreary store-bought baked goods and artificial mixes to satisfy their cravings. Baking Basics and Beyond allows even absolute novices to prepare a wide array of delicious, healthy breads, cakes, cookies, pies, and more. In a warm, reassuring manner, Pat Sinclair leads beginning bakers step-by-step through each recipe, thoroughly explaining each technique and direction. After learning a basic technique, additional recipes provide further practice and more elaborate results. This second edition contains more than 100 recipes, from old favorites like icebox cookies, cornbread, and brownies to updated classics, including Butterscotch Cashew Blondies, Chai Latte Custards, and Savory Wild Mushroom Bread Pudding. Throughout, explanations and precise tips, based on Sinclair's years of baking experience, make readers feel as though there is a friendly teacher in the kitchen, peering over their shoulders, and guiding them toward perfect results, every time.

This new edition of this basic, down-to-earth, reader-friendly baking guide is updated with beautiful full color photos throughout.
