Collections not created on Sony PRS-T1

I would like to use Calibre with my Sony PRS-T1.

I am trying to have the collections created automatically. However when I move books to my device, I get an error message.

ERROR: Error: Error communicating with device

coercing to Unicode: need string or buffer, NoneType found

I have set the Sony T1 Plugin as only "series" as described in your FAQ.

I have also set the Export option to manage collections "On send only".

Yet the books transfer fine, they just do not get put into any collections.

Please help as I would dearly love to NOT use Sony Reader Desktop!!!

Your device db appears to have some invalid entries, I'll fix the driver to ignore those for the next calibre release.

Thank you for such a quick response.

A couple of questions:

1) Is there a way to rebuild the device DB in the meantime? I tried to find the "media.xml" file to delete it as per the FAQ but could not find it.

2) Do you have an approximate timeframe on the next release?

Talking to my self here but ... I went on to the Reader and renamed the books.db file to books.bak and then disconnected the device. The device then rebuilt the books.db file.

I was then able to transfer error free and collections were made correctly.

Lost my original collections on the device but that is a small price to pay to be able to use Calibre. Collections are easy to rebuild, especially with the functionality you built in.
