Odd behavior...
Odd behavior just occurred on my Fire. 24 of the 30 books I just transferred from My Calibre Library disappeared (the Fire didn't see them anywhere) and it took a reboot to restore them.

I dont see what calibre can do about that. All calibre does is transfer the file to the Fire, after that, it's up to the Fire.

I am making some changes to the MTP driver to prevent it from trying to connect to unsuitable devices, like cameras, iPhones, etc. (these devices just generate errors after the initial connect). I want to make sure that my test does not exclude the Kindle Fire HD, so could you do the following:
1) Plugin your Fire HD 2) Open a command prompt 3) Type in calibre-debug -d and post the output |

Trying to send epubs to my new ($159) Kindle Fire
I installed the FBreader app and it sees books when they are in the Books directory, whereas the normal destination for 'send to device' is Documents.
I tried 'save to disk'. but it can't find the device when I try and set where to send the book(s). I tried setting a rule for epubs in 'configure device'. But it set all types to go there, not just epubs. I can drag & drop them one at a time. Yuk! Any suggestions? Last edited by alansplace; 09-23-2012 at 04:22 PM. Reason: add a paragraph |

Configure the device, in the list of folders box enter, Documents, then create a rule for epub that sends epub to Books. It is critical that you change the list of folders setting as well as creating the rule.
Then epub files will go to Books, everything else will go to Documents. Or just change the send to setting to be Books, then all files will go to Books. Your Kindle should still see the files, as will fbreader. |
