Ios 6 Deletes years worth of playlists...
It looks as if Apple has broken digital media into the three different apps. iTunes, Podcasts, iTunes U are all completely separate whether you want to move them or not. My playlists, folder rules and auto deletes are all messed up

I now have home recorded mp3s sitting in podcasts.
Voicemails dumped into iTunes.
Audiobooks all over the place........

In other words if you did not buy the media from Apple good luck......

Are there any good podcast players for the iphone that still work? This new one is atrocious and shoves "Ted Talks" down my throat like it is a paid ad....

If you were to delete the podcasts app, I believe all the content goes back into itunes (check that its in itunes on your computer, then delete the apps and resync). Likewise iTunesU. Those apps are things we all merrily downloaded when they came out but they are NOT essential.

As for your voicemails I have no clue. For me, everything is exactly where it ought to be.

Have you checked the Media Kind metadata tag on each of your tracks that appears in the wrong place? Unlikely to be set wrong, but worth double checking anyway.

I am trouble shooting my way through the above issues.
There are no issues with my voicemail files that I am aware. For four years I have used a service called YouMail that saves a voice mail as an MP3 which allows me to save, sync and sort through the playlist functions in my idevices. Now it looks like I will have to cludge together some sort of work around.....

The official Podcasts app is an atrocity.

I highly recommend Downcast, which I use. I have also heard good things about Instacast.
