Top100EbooksRank - can you add me to our list. I sold 70,000+ copies of my Riyria Revelations between April 2010 and August 2011 (that's when Orbit (fantasy imprint of Big-six publisher Hachette Book Group) took over the series. Also you can add an * next to my entry as I had no publishing credentials before this series.

Interesting numbers. I wonder how many of those 27 would have been there without KDP or KDP Select. I'm also wondering when Smashwords is going to finally get its link with Amazon fixed so it can start distributing there.

I'm not sure what the date when that list was chosen but I think it's from a couple of months ago... at least 5* of those KDP books have now been picked up by traditional publishers (and now cost a few $ more...)

*Slammed, Point of Retreat, Beautiful Disaster, Love Unscripted, Gabriel's Inferno

Time marched on?

So yeah, 1984 didn't happen, the Second Impact never happened, the Eugenics War didn't happen but we're only a few elections away from the Sanctuary Districts, the Centauri haven't put a jump gate into orbit, we don't have domed cities because of excessive pollution or radiation, we never had any nuclear wars, we don't have Boomers or Replicants, we don't have any fully-developed megacorps yet, governments still exist (thank gawd), the Flying Car Guy is still trying to prove he can make a product that can go higher than 40 feet, we're still using the dirtiest possible energy sources, we don't have a Handicapper-General (thank gawd), none of the Presidents have gone off the deep end and declared themselves dictator...

Dunno, I think we got a not too bad deal compared to what could've happened.

Good question. If these 27 books were available at other online shops, would they have sold as well on Amazon?

George W. Bush came pretty close and we didn't get off at all. The US has a surplus of money, the economy was good and the US was doing well. The along comes George W. Bush and now look where it got us. If the republicans win for President, we may as well move to Canada.

Hmm aren't we approaching Judgment day when Skynet comes online though? That could be troublesome.

Not all of the 27 books were KDP Select, so some are available at other shops. I'm kind of bored and curious, so I'm going to try to break them down here.

  1. The Marriage Bargain - no longer on KDP (smallish publisher Entangled), now from Gallery Books
  2. Slammed - no longer on KDP, now on Atria Books
  3. Our Husband - KDP Select
  4. Point of Retreat - no longer on KDP, now on Atria Books
  5. Easy - KDP
  6. While It Lasts - KDP
  7. Plain Jane - KDP Select
  8. Beautiful Disaster - no longer on KDP, now on Atria Books
  9. Seducing Cinderella - KDP / with Entangled Publishing
  10. Bedding the Billionaire - KDP
  11. Love Unscripted - no longer on KDP Select, now on Atria Books
  12. Finding Emma - KDP Select
  13. Nerves of Steel - KDP
  14. Anything He Wants - KDP
  15. Fool for Love - KDP
  16. Anything He Wants 2: All's Fair - KDP
  17. The Look of Love - KDP
  18. Gabriel's Inferno - no longer KDP, now with Berkley
  19. Anything He Wants 3: Love And War - KDP
  20. Don't Know Jack - KDP
  21. A Deadly Blessing - KDP
  22. Reason to Breathe - KDP
  23. Wool (Omnibus edition) - KDP
  24. A Modern Witch - KDP Select
  25. Her Best Friend's Brother - KDP Select
  26. By His Desire - KDP Select

(I've counted the covers a few times and I can't find the 27th book...)

So of the 26 books, 6 are no longer with KDP and only 6 are still with Select.
I also think that maybe the 2 books with Entangled shouldn't really count.

That already didn't happen in 1997.

But December 21, 2012 is still available...

So to summarise the list, almost the only thing that sells is romance?
