A better part for this specific purpose could probably be found, but that one should be a typical example.
That one would do the job of being the "USB Downloader Switch" when a cer-magnet was brought close to case back.

Similar parts can be found in low voltage, "brushless", DC fans as the "commutator" part.

So if the machine has internal switch or switch pads that need to be closed to enable the USB / Serial Downloader mode - it could be hardware retro-fitted with a sensor from a salvaged fan.

Its operating power could come from one of the switched lines that get turned off after the SoC re-sets and re-starts.

A PS on getting it open: "Heat Guns" (hot air guns) are now a common item on the re-work bench - that is what is used to place/re-place the SMT parts.
So using one to get the "hot glue" to release is not that far fetched an idea.

One of the things that now works with the V-9.1 upgrade is the Babelfish links (they only work if you are logged in - gotta fix that).

Scroll to very bottom of page to find the links.
So, yes, you could make the offer on minimodding.com and people could read it in Chinese.
BUT...
China has access to minimodding.com blocked in their firewall.
(But I get a lot of page requests from "China Proxy" servers anyway.)

Because most of those devices are built in China and China feels that disclosing how they work is revealing "trade secrets".

Do you have any facts/links about KP's CPU? I didn't find any in this thread, but I'd like to read them ASAP. Because obvious speculations are so obvious and boring (and pointless if KP has non-Freescale CPU)...

Once you find a suitable acid rock, then you need to figure out where to apply it on the DX, and how high to drop it from.
