Minor correctios in terminology:
a) What some call: "lost" here is commonly referred to as: "orphaned" works.
b) in some legal systems (e.g. Germany) you can't resign from your copyright because it is regaded as a natural right. As long as live you have ©. There you have to go the way of CC licenses as a workaround

No, they are all available in the US in paperback; they are certainly not "lost", as you suggested.

Yep.. *All* the authors are available in the US. Yes, they're available in paper and not ebook, but definitely not unavailable.

Edit: Geo-Ristrictions are not unavailable

The paper versions are still available in the US but I expect that they are out of print. For the Belgariad V.1 HB-$52.75 on Amazon, Pawn of Prophesy MM PB only 10 left in stock. Looks like they are selling the last of the previous print run.

But yes, those books are probably not lost in copyright limbo just temporarily out of print in both paper and electronic versions. But it could easily happen if authors don't make provisions in their wills for their book rights.

Like in APA fromat with a bibiliography no but I did say who's work it was. That would be intresting a novel with a bibliography.
