If you prefer to run Windows, maybe Cygwin will do the trick for you...

Cheers.

P.S.: Interesting... I wasn't even aware of native Windows binaries... FMP: Did I get you correctly, that these did not work? If so, could you quickly report whether it works with Cygwin?
[Is there a solution for this problem for Windows users in the meantime? I urgently need to print some (merged) scribbles, but I would prefer not to install Cygwin]:
For all those interested: It is possible with the PDF XChange Viewer: Just access Comments - Flatten Comments, if you use the freeware-version it will mark stamps advertising for the Pro-version when saving, but it is possible to print the file without saving and then just discard the changes when closing the file.

That's right. It works in Win and no Cygwin is needed.

I use Win application PDF XChange Viewer ver. 2.5., the Free version. And use the steps described by Marcela K. (Actually, I discovered this way).

I would add, that if you want to produce pdf printable in all pdf SW. Print it to a virtual pdf printer (I use free Bullzip PDF printer) instead of a normal printer.
