Problem with that is, you're dealing with something hanging off, that can get in the way or easily knocked out. Better than nothing, but I'd still prefer an SD card

It can convert them to a google doc file, but you can easily convert out of it. Plus it is still optional, I've got some stuff on my google drive, that hasn't been converted.

Part of me likes the idea of a Nexus 7 and a little larger screen and trying out Jelly Bean, but it's hard to justify, given my Note does all of what I need right now and with more eye friendly resolution plus a card slot!

I did try out my first magazine from Google Play yesterday, and the app didn't let me change text size, at least in that magazine. No zoom either. If I did magazines often, a 7" or larger tablet might be justified, but I don't.

Very much agreed. I also think it will trigger waves of cheap tablets to come. Just like calculators in the 70s, I hope tablets will become so cheap that everyone can afford and no one will be talking about it in the future.

More than cheap, I hope manufacturers quickly come to the realization that tablets need diversity. They need to start producing more than one model, just like laptop makers do. HP, for example, makes 46 different laptops with 7 different screen sizes. I want to see similar diversity with tablets.

Ummm, well, if you happen to have a US Google Voice number (even if you live in area code 403 in Canada), you can make and receive phone calls over WiFi on the N7 using an app called Talkaphone.

Out of curiousity, what file format are the Magazines in? I wondering if they are epub or PDF based.
