It's worth noting, referring to the link that Tom's posted above, that what most of us call "moderators", the board software calls "editors".

Technically, moderators are forum-specific and have limited powers. Editors and Administrators (the "Greenies") are able to act in all sections of MobileRead. But like everyone else around here, I usually refer to anyone with a green name as a "moderator" and forum moderators as "forum moderators".

The term "moderator" makes more sense to me because the first time that I noticed the "Greenies" was because of the green background notices warning about going off the topic of the thread, or reminding us of the guidelines, etc.; and the realization that you have the power to edit people's posts came much later.
