Hallo an euch Experten.
Mit großem Interesse habe ich die Beiträge gelesen. Alle Achtung.
Seit ca. 5 Wochen bin auch ich nun stolzer Besitzer eine schwarzen M92. Anfangs hatte ich erhebliche Probleme, Bücher auf den Boox zu transferieren. Dauernd stürzte mir der M92 ab, wenn ich meine pdf und epub Files auf den Reader kopieren wollte. Es klappte auch nicht, wenn ich es auf die 16GB SD-Card kopieren wollte. Durch Zufall habe ich das Problem gefunden. Auf meinen Rechnern (Win7 und Win XP) war das Programm "teracopy" installiert. Anscheinend verträgt es sich nicht mit dem M92.
Jedenfalls habe ich selbiges deinstalliert und alles funktionierte einwandfrei.
Auch die Downloads Sokoban und Chess machen viel Spass. Vielen Dank an die Entwickler. Hab mir beides von der englischen Seite runtergeladen.
Ein kleines Manko habe ich allerdings festgestellt. Wenn ich ein PDF Buch lese, welches ich auf größer als 100% stelle, kann ich mit dem Jostick nicht mehr blättern. Das ist schade, da man dan quasi immer nur die linke Hand benutzen kann. Vielleicht gibt es da Abhilfe.
Eine große Bitte hätte ich noch.
Wäre es möglich eine deutschsprachige Beschreibung für das Update der Version 1,7 einzustellen. Meine Englischkenntnisse sind sehr mangelhaft (bin 60 und hab sie seit der Schule nicht mehr gebraucht). Ich möchte nämlich keinen Fehler machen und mir mein Gerät abschießen. Ich lese nämlich täglich mit dem Reader.
Eine deutsche Bedienungsanleitung wäre ja auch nicht schlecht. Wurde vom eReader Store zwar in Aussicht gestellt, hab aber seit 4 Wochen nichts mehr davon gehört.
Vielleicht kann mir hier im Forum jemand helfen.

Eine deutsche Beschreibung zum Umgang mit den Firmwareupdates wäre in der Tat eine feine Sache. Ich sehe da aber den Hersteller bzw. dessen inoffiziellen deutschen Vertreter in der Verantwortung. Spätestens, wenn die finale Version 1.7 erscheint, sollte auch dazu irgendwo eine deutsche Instruktion erscheinen.

Ich selbst würde zum jetzigen Zeitpunkt keine deutsche Übersetzung liefern, da ich selbst noch kein einziges Firmwareupdate aufgespielt habe. Ich will ja schließlich nicht von Sachen schreiben, die ich selbst noch gar nicht getestet habe.

Ein deutsches Handbuch halte ich ebenfalls für keine schlechte Idee. Dass da bisher noch nichts gekommen ist, hat mich aber nicht gewundert bei dem kleinen Absatz hier in Deutschland. Aber wenn man dir, alegst, ein solches Handbuch angekündigt hat, sollte man auch bald mal wieder davon hören, finde ich.

Mal sehen, ob Booxtor etwas dazu bekannt geben wird

Ich habe erstmal die englische Vorlage des Benutzerhandbuchs für 1.6.
Vorlage für Manual 1.7 wurde bereits angefragt und sollte bald kommen. Übersetzung machen wir auch dann.

Die meisten Bestellungen kommen aus EU. Deutsche Kunden sind noch etwas rar (und die meisten scheinen keine Probleme mit englisher Sprache zu haben . Bis jetzt hatten wir eine einzige Anfrage für deutsches Handbuch.
Daher war die Anpassung des Handbuchs keine prioritäre Aufgabe für uns.

Danke für die schnelle Antwort.
Bisher hab ich mir mit dem englischen manual beholfen. Aber beim aufspielen der Version 1,7 sollte man wohl besser keine Fehler machen - oder? Also wäre eine deutsche Anleitung vielleicht schon deshalb gut, weil man den einen oder anderen Fehler vermeiden könnte.
Ein Problemchen hab ich noch. Seit ich Sokoban, Chess und den Dateimanager installiert habe, startet mein M92 immer wieder in der englischen Version und vergisst die Einstellung "Sprache deutsch". Wie gesagt, ist nur ein Problemchen sprich Schönheitsfehler.

Meinen Sie jetzt die Anleitung wie man Update durchführt?

Das wirklich ist sehr einfach. Aber wenn Sie jetzt etwas über vom Ereader "vergessenen" Einstellungen schreiben, dann würde ich Ihnen empfehlen erstmal diese Version aufzuspielen (diese Version formatiert zusätzlich den Systemspeicher und bereinigt von evetl. Fehlern) und erst dann die letzte Version.

Ablauf des Updates.
1. Sichern Sie erstmal Ihre Daten vom Ereader auf dem PC.
2. Kopieren Sie das heruntergeladene Archiv (ZIP Datei nicht entpacken) auf eine SD Karte
3. Schliessen Sie Ihren ausgeschalteten Ereader auf eine Stromquelle (nicht nötig wenn die Baterie mehr als 50% Restladung hat)
4. Die SD Karte mit dem Update in den Ereader einschieben.
5. Den Joystick Knopf drucken, gedruckt halten und den Ereader einschalten.
6. Sobald eine Textmitteilung über Update Request (am unteren Rand des Bildschirms) erscheint den Joystick los lassen und etwa 10 Minuten warten.
Nach dem Update startet der Ereader neu.

In der letzten Softwareversionen bleiben die Benutzereinstellungen, Lesezeichen etc. nach dem Update erhalten.

Hi Booxtor.
Hab meinen Reader geflasht. Nochmals danke für Deine Hilfe.
In der Aufregung habe ich jedoch mehrere Versuche machen müssen bis es geklappt hat.
Und zwar habe ich den Reader, ohne es zu wissen, in den Schlafmodus "abgeschaltet". Erst nachdem ich den Ausschaltknopf länger gedrückt hatte, kam der leere Bildschirm. Und dann hat es auch endlich geklappt. Vielleicht geht es anderen Anwendern ebenso, und sie verlieren dann die Geduld ;-)
Vielleicht könntest Du in Deiner Anleitung einen Klammervermerk machen, dass absolute Anfänger (wie ich es zweifelsfrei bin) schneller zum Erfolg kommen.
Ich habe schon gesehen, dass Du die Anleitung zigmal im Forum gegeben hast. Auch von mir DANKE für Deine Eselsgeduld!!!!!

Bin schon wieder mit einem Problem hier. Leider kann ich bei ePub Büchern keine Notizen mehr hinzufügen. In Pdf Büchern klappt alles bestens.
Ist dieser Fehler auch anderen schon aufgefallen, oder habe nur ich dieses Problem?
Kannst Du mir bitte helfen? Ich sollte mit eier ePub Datei arbeiten.

Vielen Dank ersteinmal für den ausfühtlichen und überzeugenden Bericht. Ich bin es mittlerweile leid, mir für Seminare zig Seiten auszudrucken, nur um sie nach zwe/drei Semestern aus Platzgründen wegzuschmeissen und habe mich zwar noch nicht zwischen einem Tablet und einem E-Ink-Reader entschieden, der M92 ist aber in der engeren Auswahl.

Meine Frage: Weiß Jemand, ob es bald ein Nachfolgemodell geben wird? Ich konnte dazu nichts finden... Vielen Dank!

Als Student könnte evtl. auch der neue Sony Moebius mit 13"Display für dich interessant sein, aber den gibt es aktuell noch nicht

Ich habe mich bereits für das Onyx M92 entschieden, jedoch fällt mir die Auswahl der Farbe sehr schwer!

Hier eine kleine Pro und Kontra Liste

Schwarzes M92
+Das "Pearl E-Ink" Display wirkt weisser aufgrund der schwarzen Umrandung
+Meine persönliche Farbpräferenz
-Fingerabdrücke und Verschmutzungen (sowie Staub usw.) sind sichtbarer
-Wenn man die funktion "hide margins" (ränder verstecken) oder sehr kleine ränder benutzt, könnte die schwarze Umrandung beim Lesen ablenken

Weisses M92
+Hauptsächlich, dass die weisse Umrandung als "margin" fungiert und man sehr kleine bis garkeine Ränder mehr benutzen muss
+Fingerabdrücke usw. sind weniger sichtbar
-Das "Pearl E-Ink" Display wirkt grauer wegen dem weissen Rand

Ich würde gerne ein paar Meinungen von Usern hören, besonders von denen die das M92 in Weiss besitzen!

Ich habe kein weißes Gerät, trotzdem: rein psychologisch wirkt Schwarz besser, da es den größeren Kontrast und somit gefühlt den helleren Bildschirm bietet.

Hast Du schon daran gedacht, dass Du höchstwahrscheinlich ein Cover benutzen wirst (ist im Lieferumfang in schwarz enthalten)? Wie gefällt Dir die Farbzusammenstellung mit dem Gerät in der Hülle?
