Fortunately, I just discovered some .txt versions of this wonderful novel (at least the first 3 of the 4 books). I'll have a go at it and share when they're in very good & readable shape.

But thanks anyway...
I've uploaded Parade's End part 1: Some Do Not in mobi and epub format.

Any chance of someone uploading the short story My Old Man by Ernest Hemingway for the MobileRead Literary Book Club? It originally appeared in Three Stories and Ten Poems (1923).

Consider it done. I was unable to locate Three Stories and Ten Poems but did manage to find My Old Man.

This is a work that is in copyright, so you won't find it here. Also, it's not available as an eBook so you won't find it anywhere.

It's available in used paper editions from Amazon and Barnes and Noble.

Amazon: http://www.amazon.com/Nine-Half-Week.../dp/1568491719

B&N: http://www.barnesandnoble.com/w/nine...ill/1102897369

I don't believe there is a legal ebook edition, and since it's still in copyright, it would not be legal to post it here if someone created one.

Stella Gibbons died in 1989, so it's in copyright in the UK until 2060. (And it doesn't seem to have been registered in the US until 2005, but seems to fall under the recent legal ruling that puts it in copyright in the US, even if it had been public domain here before.)

Penguin owns the current rights.

Thank you, Elfwreck, I had a horrid feeling that would be the case. I have the paperback version but don't like reading pb books anymore, the font is so small! Getting old lol.

On with the reading glasses.

Is ELIZABETH AND ESSEX by Lytton Strachey in public domain? If so, could someone please be kind enough to upload an .epub version? I just watched the old Bette Davis version and thought it would be fun to read the book.

It's available at Project Gutenberg, so yes, it's in the public domain. I hope someone capable of doing a good job of formatting to epub can upload one for you, unfortunately, it's beyond me.

Just realised I found it on the Canadian PG, not sure where you are or if the rules are the same in your country. The link, for anyone who can convert it, is:

Lytton Strachey died in 1932 so his works should be PD in Life+50 and Life+70 countries. Elizabeth and Essex was published in 1928 making it potentially (if renewal was properly filed) still under copyright in the US. PG/US has his earlier works but not this one making it very likely that the US copyright is still in effect.

Is there any chance of some kind formatter making an illustrated lrf of Mary Roberts Rinehart's "The Window at the White Cat"? It's available from Manybooks, but they put a brief description in the places where illustrations should be. It isn't in the memorial library in any format.
Thanks.
