How long from right sale to being available
When you sell your ebook rights on a backlist book how long does it generally take before the ebook becomes available? Are we talking months or years?

It depends on who you sold them to and what the contract says. Does the contract say they have to publish within a particular time window?

Elfwreck Johnson is right. If the contract is specific, it means the publisher will either do it soon if the book is popular and expected to make a quick return... or it could be whenever they get 'round to it, which can be years-to-never.

I just heard that Octavia Butler's ebooks rights had been sold and I have been waiting a long time for them. God, I was sad when I heard she died. She was one of my favorite S.F. writers.
