Roberson Davies' "The Rebel Angels" and "What's Bred in the Bone" had me laughing out loud, waking up the rest of the house

Someone already said "The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy" but I'd like to second it. Discworld novels are also good for a laugh.
Honestly, I think if you're looking to read something funny you're probably better off reading some memoirs by funny people. |

Lucky Jim is great, I'll also recommend anything by Christopher Brookmyre or Carl Hiaasen.

Wow, so deep in the thread and no mention of one Pelham Grantville Wodehouse ? I've laughed uproariously through most of his novels. Try Code of the Woosters to start.

I would vote for any Flashman novel by George MacDonald Fraser. Very funny (and accurate) historical fiction

All the books in the Spellman Files series by Lisa Lutz. They are a riot. My all time favorite though is A Confederacy of Dunces. Genius!

Thanks for all of these recommendations, I've got a bunch of these books in my TBR from the usual places. I was just thinking though, at what point does the discussion of a book become copyright infringement? Most of us would assume that simply stating the title of the book with no content references would not be infringement, but why?
Who determines what level of content needs to be copied before the text has been infringed? |

Rather than pick something by PG Wodehouse, I'll say The Night Life of the Gods by Thorne Smith.

Good Omens by Terry Pratchett and Neil Gaiman! Loved their twist on the Omen movie
