Heck no. The screen/text is too small. If I make the text bigger, I have to constantly turn the page. And it drains the battery horribly.
I tried it a few times. Never again. |

I have a phone equivalent - Galaxy Player 4. It's too small and has LCD. Reading novels is strictly an eInk activity.
Almost chose the last option again. But alas, monkeys have bananas on their heads, not fish.

I have a 5" phone, but I much prefer to read on an e-ink screen. I tried to use the phone as my exclusive reader for a while and it didn't work out. Tried my wife's iPhone 4 and still didn't like it. However, when I am out and about and get bored I do read on my phone since I don't want to carry my reader with me all the time. So there really is no suitable choice for me among the options given.

My Android phone (Xperia X10) is my preferred reading device. Small enough to hold in one hand. Volume up/down buttons hit my hand in just the right place and do the page turning - in fbreader, at least. Backlit, so it's easy to read in bed. Always in my pocket. Needing lots of page turns doesn't bother me since the volume up/down are in such a natural place. And in most of the places I read, I can keep the brightness down to a level where the battery lasts long enough.
With that said, I also like each of my other readers. Sony PRS-300 and Kindle are eInk for when I am in bright sunlight or need really long battery life. Old iPaq PDA isn't used as a PDA anymore but is great for the gym where I don't care if I sweat on it. Rooted Nook Color is my tablet, and is great for taking notes at conferences/meetings. But if I had to pick just one, it would be my phone.

I don't much like reading on my phone (iPhone 4) because the screen isn't really big enough, but it's nice to have the option when I wasn't expecting to have time to read, want to carry the absolute minimum, or if there isn't enough light to read e-ink.

No. How can I read on my phone? My phone is on its dockingstation at home. Doing nothing, most of the times. But we do have 3 handsets so we can make internal calls!
If you meant a smartphone, I don't have one of those.

I always have my ereader with me. Before I had it I always carried a book with me. When I go to the grocery store I carry a book. I have to cross railroad tracks and if there is a train, I get to read.

Of course.
Reading is why I have a phone with a five inch screen.

Sorry I had to vote for the mackeral thing because I really don't like to read on my phone and I usually have my ereader with me but sometimes (when I least expect it) I end up with a few minutes spare and NO ereader!!
![]() What's a girl to do but whip out the teeny tiny phone and find something to read. I'm not sure which is worse - the pain in my eyes or the RSI in my fingers from constantly flipping the pages. So if I hadn't clicked on the fish option my answer would have been I rarely read on my phone because I really don't like but I'm addicted to reading so I can't help myself sometimes. |

I mainly read on my ereader, but it's not always with me or it's not a viable option. Then I turn to my mobile.
It's 4.3 inch screen is perfectly capable of dispaying books for the 10-or-so minutes a time that I would be reading on it. But as your poll didn't give me that (or similar) option, I chose the fish on head.
