Blood Guilt - A Crime Thriller Novel - Only 99cents/86p

Hi all,

I'm excited to let you know that my crime thriller novel Blood Guilt is available on kindle for only 99cents/86p. Here's the blurb:

Is it ever truly possible to atone for killing someone?

After the death of his son in a freak accident, DI Harlan Miller's life is spiralling out of control. He’s drinking too much. His marriage and career are on the rocks. But things are about to get even worse for him. A booze-soaked night out and a single wild punch leave a man dead and Harlan facing a manslaughter charge.

Fast-forward four years. Harlan’s prison term is up, but life on the outside holds little promise. Divorced, alone, consumed with guilt, he thinks of nothing beyond atoning for the death he caused. But how do you make up for depriving a wife of her husband and two young boys of their father? Then something happens, something terrible, yet something that holds out a twisted kind of hope for Harlan – the dead man’s youngest son is abducted.

From that moment Harlan’s life has only one purpose – finding the boy. So begins a frantic race against time that leads him to a place darker than anything he experienced as a policeman and a stark moral choice that compels him to question the law he once enforced.

Set in the northern English city of Sheffield, Blood Guilt is a gritty crime thriller that'll leave you asking yourself how far you'd go to protect a child from the very real monsters that stalk our world. If you're a fan of fast-paced, hard-hitting fiction that isn't afraid of dark subjects and dangerous questions, this full-length (93000 word) novel is for you.

Hi everyone,

Just wanted to let you know about the reviews Blood Guilt has recieved recently. Book blogger Sonia Porter described the novel as '...a great page-turner with a unique premise' over on her blog Just a normal girl in London. You can read her review in full at
http://normalinlondon.wordpress.com/...-ben-cheetham/

Maggie, an Amazon Vine Voice reviewer, gave Blood Guilt 5 stars and had this to say 'Excellent plot and a page-turner. It is always good to discover a new author that pleases you. There are so many out there now and unfortunately a lot of mediocre writing and plotting. This, though, is a well-plotted book with a different twist on its subject as other reviewers have described. It is a pity in a way that Harlan's story is complete in itself as he would make a very good series character, very human and inviting your empathy.'

A couple of other equally good reviews have also been posted on Amazon. As a result, Blood Guilt has broken into the top 10 in its Amazon.co.uk category and the top 1000 paid in Kindle store books for the first time. Hopefully this is a sign of things to come, but I guess I'll just have to wait and see.

Thanks for taking the time to read this, and an especially big thanks to everyone who's bought the novel so far.

Blood Guilt has recieved another good review from book blogger Vic Watson over on her blog elementaryvwatson. Here's a snippit of the review 'Set in Sheffield, UK, Blood Guilt examines the consequences one mistake can have on many people’s lives. Blood Guilt is a well-written, taut thriller with more twists and turns than a theme park ride. Just when you think you have everything worked out, Cheetham brings another stunning twist to the story. The characters are realistic and intelligently written, demonstrating a real understanding of modern-day Britain and the characters lurking among us. This story keeps you hanging until the very last page – a great read.'

You can read the review in full at http://elementaryvwatson.wordpress.c...-ben-cheetham/

Blood Guilt has been climbing the Amazon charts - well, at least in the UK. It's currently hovering in the top 200 kindle books on Amazon UK. I'm thrilled with its progress and incredibly grateful to everyone who's bought a copy.

Hi again,

Just wanted to let you know about the latest review for Blood Guilt. Book blogger Darren Sant has reviewed my novel. Here's a taste of what he had to say 'This is the first novel I have read by Ben Cheetham and it won't be the last. Blood Guilt is a cracking page turner of a thriller. I found it well written, suspenseful and above all believable. Cheetham whilst cranking up the tension never once over does it. The dialogue is snappy, clever and again totally believable. Blood Guilt is, I feel, as well as being an excellent story an exploration into the what if. By this I mean what if your own life turned to crap due to one event? What if you had nothing to lose and let the darker side of your character roam around and seek vengeance where in order to atone for guilt? Cheetham managed to engage me totally with the story.'

You can read the review in full at http://santsrants.blogspot.com/2011/...-cheetham.html

I'm also thrilled to tell you that Blood Guilt has broken into the Amazon UK top 100 Kindle books this week and hit no.1 in the Hard-Boiled category.

Thanks for taking the time to read this. If what you've seen has convinced you to take a chance on my novel, it's available for 86p/99c from:
