L. Sprague de Camp fans bunch of back catalog coming to Kindle
http://www.amazon.com/gp/search/ref=...rnid=618072011 I loved the Harold Shea stories a lot as well as a few other titles I can no longer remember so it will be fun to revisit those stores. Prices look fair as well. I think? I know an author over at Webscription.net also published a revised version of The Incompleat Enchanter under the title of The Enchanter Completed which I have noted but not read. In case you don't know who the heck he is, here is the Wiki page...save you looking. ![]() http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/L._Sprague_de_Camp Last edited by joenunya; 09-01-2011 at 09:13 AM. |

Yes!
His biography of Lovecraft is on the list. I can replace my hardback. Prices overall look good, if my TBR list were not already so long.

It's actually cheaper to buy these from the publisher and they have them in ePub and Mobi.

Note the timing - September 28th. Then look at the list of authors on the Phoenixpickx screen...I'll bet they are being resellers of Gollancz SF Gateway books....

Phoenix Pick seems to only have Lest Darkness Fall.

Hal Clement's Gollancz e-books are also up for pre-order.
(Including Cycle of Fire. Yay!)

On the one hand, yay!
On the other, ouch at the ridiculous pricing. $8+ for books that are about 250 pages, and in many cases, can be found in used bookstores for 25-50 cents? Baen is the only one that does back list right. $4, which is fair. $8 is not. |

Phoenix Pick occasionally has discount coupon sales when you buy directly from them (usually announced in the newsletter) and they already give 15% off suggested retail on direct sales.
And if you're okay with getting a bunch of other sf "classics" at the same time, you can get Lest Darkness Fall bundled in with a couple of other award nominee/winners for an amortized price of just over $5 per book (before applicable discount coupon). Still a little pricey, but DRM-free. Unfortunately, there are no such semi-deals for the upcoming Gollancz releases. |

Nice to see the Fredric Brown sf novels coming too, and a lot of Barry Malzberg's books. Now if they can do the short fiction collections of both Brown and Malzberg, this kid will be one happy camper.
Gollancz will also be doing several Algis Budrys titles, but they're not showing up on the US Kindle store at the moment (and I don't think ROGUE MOON or BLOOD AND BURNING were in the selection). Anyone know if these will be available for US purchase some time down the road?
