Best stand ever
Hello,
Well I could have made a fortune setting up a company and producing this in the millions for you folks. Then again that would have meant stop reading. So here it is, a magnanimous gift to humanity: http://homepage.mac.com/dicenti/.Public/stand.jpg http://homepage.mac.com/dicenti/.Public/tabletop.jpg http://homepage.mac.com/dicenti/.Public/tabletop2.jpg http://homepage.mac.com/dicenti/.Pub...Dimensions.jpg I thought very hard and long about this. I wanted something that: + Was light and beautiful. + Was as simple as possible. + That would hold that damn cover open. + That you could put at a high angle for viewing from a low spot (ie. lying down in bed on your chest or a pillow) + That you could put at a low angle for a table. Well enjoy, and send me pictures if you decide to make one from ebony with ivory inlays. |

About turning pages, I wish there was some motion detector that you could swipe your hand in font of it, left to right to go forward, and right to left going back. Failing that, come on Sony, give us a button that we don't have to press so hard! gentle does it.

I'm going to start a poll to find out how many people use a "book stand". I've never used one in my life and don't really see the point of them, except, perhaps, for people with arthritis or some other reason they have might have difficulty holding a book.

i do regularly prop it up on a pillow and just steady it / turn the pages with one hand (that's right, i'm lazy at 2 in the morning), depending on what position i am reading in, so it doesn't seem so far-fetched an idea. |
