calibre update 0.8.1 to 0.8.2 custom install directory

I had installed calibre on in c:\caliobre2 earlier but when i upgraded today it changed the directory to the default directory.on my windows 7 64bit pc
but installed correctly on my windows xp 32bit pc.

If you are going to use a custom install folder then I believe that you have to set it every time as it is not remembered between releases.

But it remembered in 1 OS and didn't in another.
Windows installer remembers the install folder normally and Kovid is using it for calibre so it should work. Anyway maybe its something to do with with my 64bit OS as the 32bit programs are installed in a different location compared to 64bit

It certainly does not remember it on my 32-bit Windows 7 system. It always defaults to "C:\Program Files\Calibre2" which is not the folder I install Calibre to.

I think you have to do something in Windows installer programs to get the settings for previous installs remebered - and so far that work has not happened for the Calibre Windows installer.

Works exactly that way for me also on 32 bit WinXP. Each time I update Calibre I have to select my installation path by clicking on the "Advanced" button rather than "Install" from the very first screen requiring you to check the box to accept the Licensing Terms.

There is no code in the installer to remember previous settings, so unless windows installer does it automagically, you will have to re-enter it.
