Best way to convert to epub when book has separate chapter files?

A friend has asked me to convert his book into an ePub.

It is currently in M$ Word .doc format and each chapter is a separate file.

I know that the best way to convert it is to change the save format to html filtered in Word BUT how should I handle the separate chapters? Create one large document and then convert, create separate html files and then join them using an html editor or what?

TIA

You could also just copy and paste each chapter into a seperate item within Sigil and then make an epub that way by adding the appropriate headers to each chapter. It's pretty easy to make an epub that way.

It is in the online manual
http://calibre-ebook.com/user_manual...specific-order

Or you could use Sigil. The drawback with the Sigil approach is it does not allow use of a common stylesheet upon Import(each added document treats the assigned stylesheet as a separate sheet), you have to edit the link code and then remove the duplicates

My wife handled this recently. She put the chapters into a single .doc file. Word allows you to insert .doc files into your working document. She created a single master file and quickly inserted the chapter files. Each chapter had a heading that received a MS standard style of Heading1, Heading2, etc. When saved as filtered html, it creates <h1>, <h2> tags, etc. When converted from html to EPUB by Calibre, Calibre automatically splits at the chapter headings and built a TOC.

The conversion factor from the time dimension to space is ct. When stationary in space, we must move into the future at c to have our clock tick off t. When moving in space, the spacetime vector c tilts from pure motion in time. The faster we move in the space dimension, the slower we move in the time dimension.

Thanks everyone for your suggestions. I think I will create the one large doc file.
